LPS car count???
I don't get it that only 26 cars were at the track tonight. When Gas City ran their sprint week show, they had 44 cars @ LPS. Where did everyone go???

Guys with smaller budgets don't want to run with USAC.

1) How much is your life worth? 2) Transponders free 3) If 35 bucks is what kept you from racing, maybe you ought to take up golf. |
Re: LPS car count???
hans, radios and ect. did not keep us from coming! safety is at the top of our list, and i think radios should be required it sure saves line up time! we were doing an engine swap, got behind and with the heat decided to take a night off .

Ever think sprintweek was last week a lot of people with worn out equipment and worn out pocket books. Does it matter the race was awesome. The entry few ect don't keep people from coming most don't want to run against the talent usac brings. Congrats to dickie!

35 bucks didn't keep them from racing. Maybe they went somewhere else to race so they could race against guys with budgets that are in their ballpark. Believe me, it makes it a lot more fun to race when you know you can at least go out there and compete with the competition.

Re: LPS car count???
I will say that at Kokomo U.S.A.C. tried to help the little guy, they wanted to split the B up but the bigger teams threw a fit.

Re: LPS car count???
i was a little disappointed until they started racing. only 3 cars didn't make the feature and that battle went to the last lap of the semi.

Re: LPS car count???
I know this is a little off topic but is USAC running out of places to race ....that track wasn't competative at all ....thank god for DC 92 ...only passing I saw ...first and last trip there for me.... Run more at Tri-State or the Burg or a corn field.....or something

Ruts n Gut, You are not understanding what I mean when I say "low budget". Sure, Gaines and Darland's teams don't have the resources that some of the bigger USAC teams have, but when they roll into a USAC race, they have a really good shot of winning. There are a lot lower budget teams than them that just can't run with those kind of teams. There are a lot of factors involved.

Re: LPS car count???
I was wondering when they had the king of the hill event after the feature, why Levi Jones ,Clausen,Gardner and some of the others didnt run? But you saw the most dedicated and true drivers out there Darland Stanbrough Gaines.
