As long as she has the sponsor dollars, which she obviously does. Or Indy Car gets enough teams to start bumping at every race, I think she is going to be there. I don't see what the big deal is? Just about every type of racing has field fillers including sprint cars. I kind of like her myself, she has always been nice to me, plus she is easy on the eyes.

I will not insult any driver or team by calling them out individually for doing something they love and something I've always dreamed of doing. But you can check the results for yourself. During Sprint Week Qualifying at Bloomington there was a 1.8 second difference from fastest to slowest, Terre Haute was 2.8 seconds, Kokomo was 1.4 seconds. At ORP last night there was a 2.4 second difference in Silver Crown and 1.8 seconds for the midgets. At the Hoosier 100 it was 2.6 seconds. At the Kings Royal last week it was 1.8 seconds and at the Grove tonight it is 1.8 seconds. So I still say there are field fillers in every form of racing. It's just part of it. It's a common occurance for cars to be lapped in a WoO heat race. I've never heard Steve, Sammy or Jac get out of their car crying about it like I do the Indy Car front runners crying about Milka. No one will ever convince me that she is any more dangerous in Indy Cars than some field fillers are in sprint cars. She's a little over 8 seconds off the pole pace on a 2 mile road course. That's better than I could do, and I would bet just about any amount, better than any in this thread that are complaining.

Russ, you missed the boat. ISW sent 15 to 20 cars home a nite. They did not make the race and you are inclluding them in 1 or 2 seconds a lap. Still can't find any field fillers unless you can name them. At ISW the winner of one nite, misses the whole show the next nite. Wow, what kind of field fillers could they have. Oh yes, how many cars missed the show at the IRL race. Now that you are betting, can you bet 15 missed the show at the IRL buy a ride event you are talking about.

Come on now, the guys who won during Sprint Week, other than Fitzpatrick, are the same guys who always win. There might have been 8 or 9 guys running the week that had a realistic chance to win a race. The rest were just running for the experience. And no, I'm still not going to insult any of them by naming names. My point in this whole thing is that Milka has every right to be out there until there are enough cars to knock her out. If we start eliminating the people who don't have a chance to win in any form of racing you'll end up with really small fields of cars.

Bullcrap on the qualifying, It was a much different track for the drivers depending on which group you qualified in (Group) One day the track was best first group, day it was third group and there was a big difference depending on how tore up the track was from group to group. There was maybe three or four cars at The SW events I went to that had no legitimate shot at winning. Comparing to the Mile is also BS. someone who never been there could easily be 2.8 seconds slower when hes got twice as much distance to cover.

Big difference in the faster a NW car goes it becomes more unstable (Biking ect) To a Wang that gets sucked harder to the track the faster it goes.

How many three and four wide multi lap battles for the lead did the Kings Royal have anyway?

Eliminate the top five and bottom five and see were they stand?

P.S.
I can agree that until they have full fields, They are going to allow about any car and sponsorships that can field a car.

Re: milka WTF???

That's not the first time that's happened this year. She's been slower than Lights a few times this year.

The deal is, they are just TRYING to get through the year. Her oil money keeps Coyne's other car with Alex Lloyd on the track. They park her and the other car is probably parked to. They are just trying to keep Coyne on the track. He's been a loyal low-buck owner for a long time.

I think they have done a decent job of parking her....especially road racing. She will start last, run a few laps, then be parked. She won't be allowed back next year....they did the same thing with Marty Roth. Coyne will know that money won't be in the budget, and he'll have the off season to come up with it somewhere else.

Randy Bernard blasted her in an interview last week. He said something will have to be done because she is not performing. You don't see those kind of comments from the head hancho too often. So they know she's terrible, but again, just trying to help Coyne out.

Does anybody remember Ray Lipper? He used to race Indy cars in the early '80's...and also used to own Centerline racing wheels. He used his bucks to crash a few Indy cars....severely. Like Russ says, she's bringing the bucks, and adding to the car count.......

I agree group qualifying sux. I would find it hard to believe that any of the drivers or owners like it. And speaking of that why didn't USAC follow their own entry blank rules and format. If you arn't goinig to follow it don't put it on there. I just bet Dick Jordan was flipping out because of the incosistancy at following the rules that were stated.
Iknow others will jump me to say it gave more cars a chance at running the feature. Well, save that for something else. This is sprint week, it's special.
However, if you follow your rules you don't have messy semi-feature like the one they had in Gas City.

Pretty much nailed that one. I knew the league was close to doing something. Like I said, they really want to get through the year, but it may not be possible.

thebus79h 7/25/10 4:22 PM

Seems like an easy fix to me, put in the 107 percent rule from F1. They are going back to it next year so why not the IRL.

The one actually backed by Chavez is Viso. His sponsor is PDVSA, which is the Venezuelan state oil company. Duno's sponsored by Citgo, American arm, because she or her husband is high up in the executive structure.

This race, Mid-Ohio, and Sears Point are the only remaining road courses. After that it's ovals all the way. And while she's not quick on ovals, she's not slower than any of the rest of the backmarkers on them either.

I can't see them pulling her off before the end of the season because what would that mean for Dale Coyne's operation? Post-season they can nudge her out like they did Marty Roth and she can then go race sportscars.

That's their standard for black flagging someone they said in the Edmonton pre-race is 107%.

More material today....she couldn't even make it through the first corner...it looks like tv has decided to not even show her, my guess is to not give her ANY air time...

Rob I was talking about USAC Fan..not you. Mind telling me what I did to ruffle your feathers? I probably should have quoted another one of USAC Fans posts, I can see where you could have misunderstood what I was meaning.

I contribute a lot by actively leading the charge to get more Sprint Car races to Brownstown and help out as much as I can to accomodate people when they come to my track or anywhere else for that matter. USAC Fan just gets to a lot of people on here.
