Gas city first time

Went saturday night for 1 st. Time isw. Great track and show. Arrived at 5:30 was lucky someone from kokomo had 2 extra seats available.thanks for your help " run forrest run " . To many fans holding more seats than they need starting early afternoon. Not good for fans who arrive at a normal time. Brownstown will be a joke for anyone wanting a seat. Not that many. Something needs to be done about fans saving so many seats so early.

Its indiana sprint week and its growing, I knew to get there early as did about half the attendees. IMHO there is nothing wrong with getting their early (RACE DAY) and laying down a seat or blanket I even forfitted space to make room for another.

Still there was a taped off area for four or five below us that nobody ever did show up too.

Clear the stands of prior tapedowns to raceday. Thats a necessity.

it should never be aloud !! They can get their own seats

If the track would NOT let people put them up for the entire season!! Like they do, then is would have not been such a mess. If you wanna have a saved seast for the season, make reserved seat sections and buy it for the year, if not, pull the stuff down each week and give EVERYONE a fair chance.

So i should have to give up my seats that i watch from every week and support the track every week. So people who come there ones or twice a year can sit in them. That don't sound fair to me.

You pay for that event on that day, Same as everybody else. Lets not forget some drove, flew in, drove motorhomes cross country to find your seat that you may or may not show up too. MARKED OFF?

Whats fair?

Come out from PA. twice a year. Spend alot of money and travel time. We put blankets down and if they don't show, we let people sit there. We would do the same for you.

I have been on both sides of this discussion. Live close to the Burg and usually go down and mark my seat the day before the race if I have time. Only for the big shows, not the weekly shows. We have a group of us that usually sit in the same area week in and week out. On Saturday I was on the other side of this as I arrived at Gas City and had to sit on the 3rd row in turn 4. I didn't and wouldn't complain about where I had to sit, I was glad to be at the race and it was my own fault that I didn't leave home earlier and get a better seat. That was the choice I made, stayed home and mowed some grass and left later than I should have. However, I really don't think it is fair for seats to be saved and NO ONE shows up to sit in them. The way this works is just like I witnessed Monica Clauson do it on Sunday at Kokomo, they had some seats saved and the crowd started getting big and she came over and removed the cover and let other people sit there. Racing has been great the first 3 nights, can't wait for Weds. (hopefully I will get a good seat) Just Kidding. Bob Bressert

Im thinking if you offered Reserved seats at GC They all would have been sold and you'd still of had SRO. All it would have done is forced advance ticket sales at a higher price which creates its own set of problems. Mainly if it rains or something like overselling.

Look for some building demolitions or something, Take stairwells ect and make a bridge over the track entry lane. Open the 3/4 grandstands to both.

Is your name branded on those seats?

We got there before the gates open early and get at the front of the line and everything from the 6th row up was covered. We pay the same money as the people who live there or go to the track every week. They should be treated the same as us for Sprint Week.

I guess that is USAC and the tracks saying they don't want us out of staters coming to speedweeks. At least the promoter at Kokomo appologized for it.

I make the trip from Missouri to Gas City and a few other tracks a few times a year for the weekly shows and they have always been great. This has been my worst experience there by far. getting a call last night to head home because of work didn't help I will admit

At the big shows here any blankets put down before the ticket gates are open get taken up. They don't even allow those from the pits to put them down until the ticket gates open.
For Sprint week I drove 1500 miles to get screwed.

The track lets it happen but the problem was to many fans not enough seats. They were giving pit pass out because there was not enough seats.

Thats the way all tracks should be, tear them up weekly if someone puts down before the gates open....Doesnt matter if there was more people than seats, then its ur fault for getting there late but make it fair for everyone. No seats til gate opens, if u want a good seat, be there early. When u get there 2 hours before the gates open, u should be able to get a better seat than 5 rows up....Limaland Motorsports Park does it the best!!!

If I owned a track I would let my regulars keep their blankets down all year just like Gas City. Those are the people who keep you in business week to week so that there is a track there for sprintweek. In my business I always reward my loyal customers with little perks and I would guess most business men do too.

saving seats before the gate opens is crazy! even in the pits a row was marked off and nobody ever showed up so we sat in them for the final features. the track officials need to take better care of their fans. i have seen on previous friday nite shows where people marked off way more than they needed. always something to ruin the nite these days. people are just too inconsiderate.
