Gas City - bringing stuff in?

I know Gas City has a no coolers policy. Can you bring in a small bag of snacks?

WOW.....Looks like Gas City trying to make a buck anyway they can. Maybe they need to do this in order just to keep the track open. I was at Bloomington a week ago Friday and they allow coolers, beer and Food to be brought in. There were people in line at the concession stand from the time i got there untill i left. Looks like the next race i will be able to attend will Brownstown on the 15th. I believe Brownstown allows coolers, Beer and Food to be brought in. May try to get to a couple more but not looking like i am going to be able to right now.

I bring snacks every week. It's never been an issue.

RGardner 7/10/10 4:24 PM

You guys are spoiled here in cali I don't know of one track that allows coolers. Or anything.

That is very true and who would begrudge a track promoter from making a few $$ on snacks. I appreciate going to the races and will help out all I can to keep the doors open at any track I visit. Quit whining and support sprint car racing!

Re: Gas City - bringing stuff in?

Ya, you guys in Indy haver no idea how good you have it. Early this year I went to a USAC WS race at Stockton. Pit passes 1 member, 1 non member...$83.00 and only coolers allowed are ones in the haulers. And all to watch 7 or 8 midgets in the main and I think 10 sprint cars.....

I'm telling you guys support your local tracks or you may end uip like us!!

ColoradoFan 7/10/10 7:00 PM

Re: Gas City - bringing stuff in?

VMC I couldn't agree more. This is the second day of whining about coolers on IOW. In Colorado there is no problem with coolers because the closest non-winged sprint car race is in Kansas City, 600 miles away. Give us some news about sprint car racing and skip the griping about coolers, promoters, track conditions. You people in Indiana have it made and all you do is complain.

Re: Gas City - bringing stuff in?

HoosierMikey,

What gives ??? Yesterday it was ******** about only going to tracks that have live feeds on the internet, so today, your gripe is about tracks that are trying to sell food to make a buck.

If you go to a baseball game or any stick and ball sport, I know they don't let coolers and food in.
STOP THE WHINNING OR JUST GO TO A PARK OR SOMETHING (where all is free)!!! So be happy that any track lets in a cooler or grub.

Later, JERSEY

Thanks to anyone and everyone who is posting updates of any kind. Just now having a chance to get on here. Sure wish we still lived in Indiana!!! LOVE TN, it is really beautiful here but I do miss sprint car racing!!! Seems like it has been an extremely long time since the last update on here and twitter. No B Main results or anything. Hope all is well.

I really wish they would try watering the track or doing something to it instead of letting it turn to crap, and completely reworking it before the feature. Its a little annoying due to the amount of time it takes but more importantly I think some guys miss the show because the track is junk for the heats and B-main. I can't help but think some of them would have made it on many nights if the track was in better shape where they could actually make some passes to get in the feature.

Re: Gas City - bringing stuff in?

First off I dont care if tracks allow coolers or not. Coolers can be very awkward when people bring them in and you have climb over them to get out of the grandstand. ( yes sometimes i bring a small cooler but usually try to keep it out of everyones way )

I very seldom bring food into a track ( when im able to go ) because nothing taste better than a hot dog or sandwich from the concession stand.

I was just trying point out if a track has to stop people from bringing a snack or 2 then in my opinion that track may be having problems staying open.

Those who choose to ignore me please do so as that is your Freedom of Choice.

Also thank God i have the choice to live in Indiana and not California.

Even though i am being Bashed for my opinion, i will not Bash anyone unless you call giving my opinion Bashing.

Thank all of you for supporting ALL our tracks here in Indiana that you choose to go to regardless of your reasons.

I don't know what car he was in. Just saw the results D.O. posted. I'd guess he was in the #16. Darren Hagen is now in the #71p that Puterbaugh has driven this season. It was posted on here that Hagen bought the ride for sprintweek.
