John:

Can you explain Robert's reasoning for skipping 5 races within 2 hours of homebase for two races clear across the midwest from each other on back to back days?

I'd think it be better for Robert's future to support tracks that are going to support him, not a series that's on life support from year to year.

No offense USAC Fan but where Robert runs is his Business and his Father nor Robert owe anyone an explanation. If he wants to run School Buses at Ransomville, that is his prerogative.

I have to elaborate on this even further since its eating at me pretty good. Life Support? We have run the TNT for 3 years and there has not been 1 show we have run where the stands aren't PACKED. Emmett, Tommy and the whole ASCS group do a great job with this series even though it does run shows similar to USAC. No better, No worse; just different. And, for years Robert has been one of the stars of the TNT series and people come out to watch him run. Robert has been loyal to Emmett and vice versa for years. Saying the TNT is on life support is a little much. It is just a different series that is successful.

We run with both and enjoy both series. Each have their own stars and Robert is one of the few that is very good in both. I will leave it at that.

I mean seriously, how long have you been following racing in this part of the country? Ballou runs that series just about every year. In fact, big wins in that series are what put him on the radar, in the first place. I just assumed that's where he'd be this weekend.

And congrats to him on the win!

Pete,
I was there last night and once again the stands were full. Since Okc does not have a track anymore this was the closet the TNT series gets to me since I live in Okc. I saw numerous people from the Okc area that made the hour and half to two hour drive to Creek.

Fans were treated to a great show by all the drivers. Most of the fans I saw walking out at the end of the show had smiles on thier face. Which to me tells me that they were not disappointed.

I see John thanks several people for their post but couldn't be bothered to answer my question. Thanks for supporting the fans John and Robert! :7:

I usually don't step into the fray , but if anyone is out of order, USAC Fan you are. The sarcastic comments you posted definately show this. If you pay the bills for Robert Ballou, then denigrate what he does all you want, but seeing that you don't , if you want to flame those that do, keep your thoughts to yourself.

When Jesse Hockett got killed recently , I thought the last outlaw was gone, you know, no points, just the cash please. Nice to see Lil Shu and Robert Ballou have picked up the torch.

For the record, the first non-winged show Robert ever ran was a TNT show at I-80 Speedway. I still remember that slide-job he put on Bud Kaeding like it was yesterday...

Russ,

Good point. The posting style is definitely the same. Different IP addresses, so there's no definite proof that it's the same guy. Wouldn't surprise me if it was, though.

Wow, and it comes out.. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't.. I can speak for myself, and I assume others I DON'T CARE.. And Integrity??? Boy you need to look that word up in the dictionary.. What I do know.. You have nothing positive to say, ever.. And then criticize His father and him for not putting the "fans" first? Bud fans don't chastise there driver for the driver not planning there racing schedule around them.. Grow up!!! And I'm sure if Mr Gardner felt he needed to step in, he would.. Im sure he has more meaningful things to take care of.. So again pump the brakes and learn to ENJOY LIFE and RACING..

Series on life support? One year they had sold so many standing room only tickets at Lakeside the State Fire Marshall made them shut down ticket sales. I take my vacation to follow TNT every year and as has been said it is packed every where you go.

As for your later post about how Robert treats his fans.

I stopped at his car last year on the tour, just a fan. He talked to me a good twenty minutes about the car, the race that night, the track, You would have thought I was an old friend.

Last night at Creek County my wife and I stopped at his car to congradulate him. Again he started talking ot me about the car, the motor, even his plans on what he planned to do at Wheatland.

I get to wheatland tonite with my daughter walking down the pits, Robert was working on his car and saw me across the pit road , he stopped and waved at me and asked how I was doing. He then stopped what he was doing and started discussing how the track looked and just chatting.

THAT is how a class driver treats their fans and Why the fans at Lucas was going wild when he was doing his cage dance tonight.

Oh, and by the way, he did tell me why he was in Oklahoma and Missouri and not Indiana, next time you see him in person just ask him and he will have no trouble telling you.

Old fan,
I think he kinda gave everyone a clue at Creek Friday night. If they have kept up with his racing this year then it would not be hard to figure out. He did not mix to many words.

I was at Wheatland last night where Robert is now 2 for 3. He was already a fan fave here based on his last 2 runs at Lucas but even if none of us had ever heard of him he would have been loved as soon as we saw his driving suit.

Nice touch Ballou....thanks for the tribute!!! nice run as well.

Robert had a Jesse Hockett tribute suit made and I believe wore it Saturday night...here's a picture of the suit front and the reverse is identical. Hinchman did a great job on it.
