Where to be Friday night June 11, 2010
Bloomington and Gas City both have a regular show Friday night June 11, 2010. What if any USAC regulars will be at either one?

Hope the weather cooperates Friday night at Tri-city. We'll be there. Wonder if Shuman has a midget ride?:8:

Re: Where to be Friday night June 11, 2010
We are headed up to Toledo for the "Fastest Short Track Show in the World". The supermodifieds from the MSA and the winged sprints from the AVSS will team up for a doubleheader show. This is one of the shows that I look forward to each and every year.
The supers put on a great show and Toledo is an ideal track for them to showcase their talents. This is one of the only shows that they qualify for and they pit the two series against each other to see who will have the fastest qualifier. The AVSS sprints also put on a great show. This is an all open wheel night and it draws one of the largest crowds of the year to the speedway.:6: |

As long as Mother Nature cooperates, Granite City would be a rock-solid choice for anyone.:3: That should be a great show! One that I've been looking forward to for a while.

Radar is not looking good for Gas City around 6 and 7. Starting to doubt if I should make the trip up there.

As humid as it is and with storms popping like Orville Redenbacher popcorn, a spot inside in the air conditioning is looking better and better. maybe they will run at Granite City and webcast it. Not looking all that great for there either but better than Indiana

Re: Where to be Friday night June 11, 2010
Granite City still looks possible. Although I don't really like that big green blob, to the West of the area, that's been just sitting there for most of the day. Just waiting till the last possible minute, before I go get on I-70 West and make a run for it.:11:

Its a roll of the dice, yellows building up behind the green blob but it doesnt seem to be making too much progress eastward. Might be worth a shot, good luck.

Re: Where to be Friday night June 11, 2010
I'm with ya....I'm waiting until 3pm CST to decide. I'm in Columbia, MO which is two hours West of Tri-City. I can take the chance on what is sure to be a great event, or go to a winged race to the East of me that only has a 20% chance of rain..... I work as an aircraft mechanic and I have the weather software that my pilots us installed on my home computers. Based on that, Tri-City is actually looking pretty good, IF they keep the show moving along. Everything that is building West of the STL area should fall apart about 100 miles West of the track. BUT....This is the Missouri/Illinois area during the Spring and ANYTHING can happen, especially if the sun decides to break out.

Re: Where to be Friday night June 11, 2010
Will be leaving for Tri City shortly, just waiting for dad to get home from work and shower. Sure is nice to only have to go 20 minutes tonight after 600 miles of driving the last two days.:31:
Also makes it easier to hang out for a while after the races when you don't have to worry if you're going to be off the roads before the drunk drivers hit them--and God knows what else--when the bars let out at 2 am. |
