WOW!!!! Thank God he made it through that alive. What a horrible looking crash. Mike is extremely lucky to only have the injuries that he does. A number of other contestants zooming through the carnage. It could have been so much worse.

Good thing he did not take it nose first. OPEN WHEEL 101...Never drive over another competitor's wheels. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, he should of spent a few years int he USAC series? HUH?

Hunter-Reay came down to block him passing I think and either Hunter-Reay moved down too late or Conway couldn't react in time. Other words: racing incident.

Ryan Hunter Reay ran out of fuel in front of Conway, he had no where to go.

ah, didn't know that

I saw a couple drivers run out going by me (turn 3) and they pulled on the access lane. Carpenter for one I know ran out.

Well at least someone around here pays attention to what really happened. :8:

There are some real morons on this site. Like he said Hunter-ray ran out of fuel usacgirl. I saw it first hand and me and my son have so debris to prove it.:7:

Watching the video is amazing on youtube but the still images-they are breathtaking. It's like looking at the Stan Fox (R.I.P.) sequence from years ago, one's mind can't grasp every thing at every moment. So glad this was a testament to safety and technology and not a horrific tragedy on worldwide tv.

More fallout from the Conway wreck.

I guess my eyes were playing tricks on me, I thought I saw Jo Jo Helberg "drive over another competitor's wheels" during the Little 500 last weekend?

(Not looking to hijack the thread and go off topic, but)

If Helberg didn't I'm sure that Windom over Wilson, and subsequently breaking his RF shock on Troy Decaire's rollcage (wwwmdavesinkphotos.com) qualifies as a wheel hopping ride.

I had a ringside seat for the Helberg wreck. I hope that spectator that got hit by debris is doing better.

I always consider this site the best of all the open wheel sites on the internet Yet, some of the responses to this thread only prove that none of us are infallible, and at the very least we should have gathered some facts before making ill-considered comments.
