That is based on the assumption that they start before 10:00 PM.

They have a curfew at Lawrenceburg, but the fine is so small, no one cares. The Sheriff does not come in and shut the place down.

However the local gestopo will harrass you for not buying beer from the race track. Been there and done that.

It happened to me and no one can argue that point.

So when some headstrong local resident with a bee in his/her bonnet finds 2 more like minded race hating locals they'll have a history of constant ,almost deliberate infringing to use to their advantage.

It's not only the size of the fine, it's also the frequency of infringement that can cost a track in the long run if it's brought to the attention of those charged with overseeing such [noise] laws.

Each one is a bullet for a gun, they hold the gun and the track is the target! :7:

We can talk about this until we're dead... it doesn't really matter, some people will never understand or appreciate why a local track promoter has to run additional classes to provide a quality purse.

All I care about is getting to see racing... I'll say this to all promoters... run as many classes as you need too... JUST KEEP THE DAMN PLACE OPEN SO I CAN COME WATCH THE RACES!

Folks, you need to enjoy the racing. you never know when it might be your last trip to the track!

USAC Midgets, Sprint cars and Modifieds for sure... I haven't confirmed with Spiker if the Bombers are running. Super Stocks will not be racing.

Look for an announcement regarding future payouts very soon.

Just wait. With the way that LPS is configured, the midgets are gonna rock this place! I think a lot of people are going to see that the track is even better suited for them, than it is for sprinters. And the extra support class will be a positive thing, IMO. It'll give everyone who isn't watching the mods race, a few extra minutes to walk around and talk about what a great idea it was to bring midgets back to LPS.

Jerry

I am so looking forward to seeing the midgets at LPS. I think the track will be excellent for midget racing. I'm like Jerry, it might be even better for midgets than sprints. Hopefully the track is just like it was Saturday before the rain came.

I'm just one of those crazy east coast race fans, but I like seeing the local support classes. All I know is in less than 72 hours I'll be in Indiana and I'll have one big smile on my face!

I've always been a big supporter of LPS. I usually make 6-8 trips down a year. But I'm not sure how great a midget track it will be. I know I went to a 100 lap midget race there several years ago and it was nothing but a spin and flip fest. I think about 70 to 80 laps of the 100 were ran under caution. It was a huge disappointment. Hopefully this show will be different.

Russ,
Is that the show where Gary Lee was the announcer? If it was, then yes, that show was horrible to sit through. Let's hope all goes well Thursday, that the sun is shining and that the humidity decreases just a bit. Tom

Hey Rudy, I have an idea, lets expand the program to four classes by adding the Big Bad Bikers and their Monster,Flame Throwing, Pulse Pounding Harleys!! :5:

Yes, I think he was the announcer. I'm pretty sure it was the Hut 100 moved from Terre Haute one year for some reason. Some called it the Put 100. I just remember they hardly ever got more than 2 or 3 green flag laps before someone spun or flipped. I can't remember who won but I remember the announcers really talking up AJ Felker during qualifying.

I remember when they had the Hut 100 at Putnamville and it was full of cautions and reds. They ended up cutting it short that night and not even running all 100 laps. But the night before that on a Friday they had what they called the Put 40 and that was a pretty awesome show.I can't wait til Thursday and I hope that a lot of the USAC midget guys have a sprint car ride as well.
