Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
They need to ban steve peeden because he waited for lee hobbs
in infield then hit him the side. That started the fight. |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
If you don't love Paragon you Don't love Race'n

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
. The man trying to pull Lee Hobbs out of his car is the father of the P3.
No one was barred, and it was exactly the reason stated, in the meeting Keith Ford had with Lee Hobbs after the race, he cant bar the P3 because of the race upcoming. |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
"I went to a race and a hockey game broke out!" :14::5:

Don't really understand this! The guy that signs the checks can if he wanted to ! He just chose not to ! |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
Those guys traded more paint then Earnhardt did in a season. They were all up in each other the whole race.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
If no one got barred that place will have twice the crowd next week.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
I love racing but not at Paragon--that is not why we race to see a fight.:7:
|
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
Really...all that for a couple hundred dollars to win. Give me a break!
Back in the ol days...They used to "pack heat" to some of the fights. If you were at sportsdrome in Jeffersonville this fight would be the undercard. Not sayin it's right. |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
:8:If ya can't do a little fighting at the track I guess they could go home and beat the Wife . Only kidding . Never been to a race track that did not have a fight now and then. That is racing when you spend that kind of money and someone scuff your race car what are you to do go say thanks alot cuz. Its going to happen . been around racing all my life and it happens ,guess we could be like the rest of the Pu--ies in bloomington and hug a tree. :26::22:

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
all the super stock boys should boycott bloomington and paragon
until they do something to peeden for rough driving an CHEATING. |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
Kieth wont do anything...even though something should be done. Hobbs brings alot of cars to that track and Peeden is his golden child since Hillman left. I was told that Kieth told Cooper not to bring his street stock back. I know its a late model but read to rules...that car is totally legal. He just took advantage of the rules and made it work. Everyone else has that chance. If that was Peeden or Hillman out there winning every week nothing would be said. I think its bull. I hope Marty spanks them ever week. Its about time someone else starting winning out there. Im done. :)

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
just a few comments about the thought of some of you.first I thought this column was indiana open wheel not fender cars ! as for the Dave Peeden Memorial how could that be if steves dad was pulling Hobbs out of car or was that a ghost.I have run sprint cars for years just because I am not brave enough to go into the stock car pits.As for keith Ford I wish he would move the stock cars out of the Sprint car pits purely for my safety. Keith is a great track operator and a friend of mine thank you for reading this Jack P Reed ps medical supplies bags of ice and gator aid are available at paragon country market see you saturday

I think it would be pretty hard to cheat at Bloomington too. We took our SS there earlier in the year for the first time and they looked that thing up and down before we ever even got out on the track. They even broke out the tape measure. I was actually impressed at the rule enforcement. Ford really told Cooper not to come back?:22: |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
Yes it's TRUE! Keith Ford said I was running of his car counts in the street stocks.
---------- Post added at 12:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:41 PM ---------- Guess he doesn't think it has anything to do with economy. It' all c00per's fault! |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
What are you gonna do Marty?
|
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
If he would go by ump rules he would have more cars!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
Go ahead and race that car with superlates when they run and start trying to get the ump sportsman more competetive. It's just BS a guy build a car to KF's rules then he barrs the car after a few wins! Says its a business and some of the other street stocks are threating not coming back as long as it is there. Not sure who that may be cause I talked to several and all they said is when is there turn to drive it?

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
marty i admit i am one of those that hate it when you bring the late model...its nothing against you i hate it when ANYONE brings a late model to run in the "so called street stock" class. But i also know what the rules are before we load up and head to paragon... With that being said tho it is BS that if your car is legal to the rules they wont let you run it!! The car count isnt leaving b/c cOOper has won every race its because of the crazy rules!! Guys dont want to compete against cars that "SHOULD" win every week, and now that one of them is winning everyweek car count is dropping and fans dont wanna show up to watch the same car win. Its not becasue cOOper is winning, someone else will show up with a good running latemodel and win again... the reason 75% of the other indiana super stock drivers dont show up is because they dont feel like they can be competative and its not fair to run against the paragon cars so they simply run elsewhere where they are on a level laying field. Change over to Indiana Super Stock rules and that will allow cars from the other 4-5 tracks to run at Paragon and then the car counts will go up. Yeah you might run off the 5-10 bar cars that currently run Paragon but your going to gain alot more. (i doubt any of them are going to start running super late models- they will probably sell their car and buy a bomber or a superstock and still run paragon) Running cOOper off isnt a fix to the situation, just a Bandaid to keep a couple cars from leaving.
In Paragons situation i think the car count has little to do with the economy- everytime i've been to brownstown in the last 3 years we've always had atleast 35 super stocks... There are still a bunch of superstocks out there it just doesnt make sence for them to build a 20k plus super stock and go to paragon to get outran by a late model on a weekly basis.... Well me for instance this past weekend i decided to by a new set of tires and some new rear springs so it would make me more competative (spent a good $700-$800 on this stuff) and while it did make me more compeative, we get easily spanked by a late model and it turns out unless he breaks that we never had much of a shot to win in the first place... sure does make a guy not wanna come back, you just feel cheated... im surely not the only one that feels this way?? like i said its nothing against marty- with the way the rules are its just the way it is..... |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
"It only a given a late model is going to win, when the leader opens up the bottom on a restart like an idiot"
I think that it sucks that Marty is not aloud to come back. He follows the rules that are written for the track. Its not his fault that he is the only "bar car" to figure it out and run up front. "Most" of the rest of them look like idiots trying what they are trying. JMO Also I heard tonight that both Hobbs and Peeden will be suspended for two weeks. They can come, their car can come, but they cant race it. So oh well could be interesting on Saturday! Roy Bruce, Jr. |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
What butlergrafix said is right on the money. But I also think that if they want the car counts to go up then they have be ump sanctioned. I know several guys who have left because Putnamville has their track smooth again and they can go up there and run for ump points. I also hated seeing Marty out there running off with every feature. Nothing against Marty, he's a heck of a talented driver. But I remember the days when there were 15 cars capable of winning on any given week. I think it's wrong to tell Marty he can't bring his car back half way through the season. God knows how much money he invested in that car only to get kicked out 3 weeks into the season. If they wanted a quick fix all they needed was a weight rule and a tire rule. Make the late models weight 200 lbs more than the stock clip guys and make all the cars run emods. That would even it out a little.
The payouts need to come up a little too. The cost of racing has went up a ton in the last 10 years. Even the admission has doubled. Yet they payout has stayed the same. Also, I think a season points fund would give people more motivation to run every race. |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
Hey reed becareful who you call your friends. Keith don't have friends. and you want to talk about safe how about you OPEN WHEEL guys coming off the track to damn fast. thats unsafe.

Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
totally aggree with the points fund... i ran for points one year and it blew my mind that if you raced at a track all year all you recieved in return was a trophy, wow!!! All the money my family spent the whole year going to just one race track and all we got was a trophy... when i raced go-karts when i was a kid there was a ton of stuff at the banquet(and the trophys were alot bigger). A good points banquett will gain weekly racers for the whole season... Just by calling and asking all the manufactuers if they could donate a product(or gift certificates) you would most likely get a ton of stuff at the banquett. Hoosier, Extreme perf, Speedway motors, Performance bodies, and the many many more companies out there. Also i dont see why you couldnt ask around for "lap sponsors" for the bigger races like the peeden memorial to gain racers. All it would take is some lap money sponsors or someone willing to sponsor the race to make a $800 to win race a possible $1000-$1200 to win race. The all of sudden Paragon is the buzz for having one of the biggest street stock races of the year. Try to turn your bigger race into a "PREMIER" super stock race that racers dont want to miss and a alot more fans would show up b/c they know on that night 50 of the best cars in Indiana will show up.
As for the fans in the grandstands has a track ever tried having a carload night like the county fairs do?? you might loose some gate money but if you have 30% more people at the track you will make more in concessions. theres just a bunch more things you can do to try to get people to show up on a regular basis... why do i care? Because the more money the track makes the more money the track is able to kick out in payout. The payout is definatly too low- one of the worst in Indiana- but with less people showing up to the track i dont look for it to raise any until they can figure out how to get people to return to the track on a weekly basis... well i need to quit giving my opinion/ideas... im way behind on work!!! lol |
Re: Paragon Speedway (THANKS)
this what you see in the hood not at the race track. they both need their :33: for actting like that.
