Re: Winchester king of the wings
Thanks, Dave. Working (well, "work" may be too strong of a word) on the article now for Hawkeye Racing News and Hoseheads.
Mr. Steele showed as much patience as one can show in such a situation and made his move when he had to. |
Re: Winchester king of the wings
How old is Hank Lower by now?

Re: Winchester king of the wings

Re: Winchester king of the wings
Well I made my first ever trip to Winchester today. :6: I thought the old place was pretty neat and it was cool to see the old photos on the walls. This was also my first time to see Winged Sprints on asphalt and let me tell ya these guys haul ass! The 81 car of Decaires was in a league of his own today he was just bad fast, looked like he blistered his right rear tire while leading which pretty much gave the win to Steele. Heck I even liked the Street Stocks so I'm gonna give this race two thumbs up one for the sprints and one for the track.

Re: Winchester king of the wings
Yeah, the place was in really good shape. It was really clean and a great race. The prices were also reasonable. They even had reduced pricing for 18-under. Most places now are all 12-under. Aaron Pierce didn't have a chance to be under weight at the scales today (the last race at Salem he grabbed gears from their pit area in order to make weight)! He had a accident during a practice session, and never even took a qualifying run. Brady Bacon was in attendance watching today. He said he had his helmet bag and suit ready to go if necessary.

Not sure how old Hank is but I heard he went for boat rides with a guy named Moses. Lol

Don't matter how fast you are if you cant finish all 30 laps.

Re: Winchester king of the wings
Definitely was a great day at the track. Too bad for all the guys who were fast early and dropped out - Decaire, Ling, Litt, etc. but patience paid off for the veterans. First time there for my boys (7,12) and they loved the racing -and running through the tunnel to the infield to throw the football around during the few breaks in the action. Looking forward to seeing the series a little closer to home when they visit Auto City in Flint in late June.

All in all, a fine afternoon. |
Re: Winchester king of the wings
Hank is 72 years young. Bad luck at Winchester Sunday. Motor issues kept him out of the hunt.

How many cars finished the feature at Winchester?
