Re: Lincoln Park Speedway April 10th IOW Racin'-Fest
I've been looking forward to this race since mother nature ko'd it and took it away from us, last fall. Hopefully, everybody will turn out see the racers competing for a pretty good purse (with lap money, Hero and Hot Dog Qualifying, etc.) and to show their support for Bill Gardner and all he's done for us.:9::8:

You know I'll be there D.O.!! I've been ready to rock since the fall too, it's been a long winter, but I think a lot of the drivers are excited to be back at LPS too and thanks to Joe Spiker and his crew for all the work they've done in the offseason and to Bill Gardner and D.O. for getting this special show together too!

I am still trying to make it. The early start time works against me, but I understand why they are doing it.

As a relatively new racing fan. What is hero and hot dog qualifying?

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway April 10th IOW Racin'-Fest
H&HD Quals is Jockish Flowers & R&B Racing have posted $500 base purse.
Each team that wants to take part pays $50 to take 3 laps for fastest top 3 qualifers. The 50's add up. Fast time is worth 500 or more depends on number of teams that enter. Means nothing for race line up just a chance for 10 or so teams to go fast and win money. Hope that helps. D.O. :35: |

Pretty good weekend for Scotty Weir. Two second place finishes.

Typical P-ville lights out rough track 20000 to win drops off quick after that. What a dissapointment.

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway April 10th IOW Racin'-Fest
Just got home and I have to say thank god for the talent that was in those cars tonight. The racers gave it there all for the fans to be sure but I just wonder what it would have been like with a decent surface. To say it was a little rough would be an understatement. Lots of carnage in the pits tonight. It would almost be worth hiring Tommy H or any outside track prep crew to get the job done right no matter what it would cost. Good racing but wow tough and expensive night for the racers.

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway April 10th IOW Racin'-Fest
Being the first race of the season, it wasnt that bad. Yes, this track was a little rough, but it was the same for everybody. We took somebody who has never been to a sprint car race and thought the feature was great. Lots of passing, with no lapped cars. You didn't know who was going to win it until the last lap. Huge crowd, probably the largest in the last few years. Both the bottom and top parking lots were full. I thought they did a really good job for all the awards they were giving out: lap money, the qualifying money, and other special awards. Not bad for a pretty much local show. The only thing I would say is they should have had a autograph session since they had advertised it, even if it meant some of the sprint car drivers coming up during some of the stock car heats, etc. But, all in all a good night.

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway April 10th IOW Racin'-Fest
track was rougher than a corn cob tonight, just glad no one got hurt
