In response to recent changes to the track surface the 4 Crown Nationals and the Historical Big One will now be known as.........

MULCH MADNESS and THE COMPOST CLASSIC!!!!!

I love USAC and in the last 2 years have been to Richmond VA, Manzy, Salem, Gas City, Bloomington, The Burg all for USAC races on a VERY LIMITED BUDGET, but if you saw the track tonight and then heard that there was mulch in it and you don't reach the conclusion that it WILL NEVER WORK then you are a &^$ idiot! It has not been dry. I will be SHOCKED if there is a race tomorrow! As far as REAL fans . . . if anyone saw that track tonight and talked to people on it AND THEN WENT BACK for SATURDAY the only thing I can say would be REAL would be REAL DUMB. Not trying to be mean to people, but come on. It was such a joke there is nothing to do but make jokes.

You really think this is USAC's fault? I was affraid that after last night they would take the most of the blame for this but I fail to see how this is USAC's fault.

Marv is one of the most honest straight forward guys on this board and if his feathers got a bit ruffled over last night's happenings it must have been bad. Man am i glad we didn't go! ;)

Don't be so hard on yourself my friend. It can happen to anybody. How were you suppose to know that DA had taken over track prep at the Big E.

I guess I was surprised in reading your post that you didn't stop at Maid Rite in Greenville to hash out the state of sprint car racing with that ole kibitzer Superduke. What gives?

I really wish I would have just finished moving last night instead of wasting 8 hours on the trip to Eldora because now I get to move in the rain. Why'd I let my sister talk to me into going? Oh I know why I wanted to see some racing but I got a truck and tractor show instead.

I first ventured to Eldora from central Illinois back in the mid-'60s. It was, and remains, a long-a$$ trip. But I almost always thought it was worth it. I attended quite a few Sunday afternoon events, with dry slickies and dust and some night events with dust and/or ruts. But is was Eldora!
About the time Earl sold it, I had stopped going, as the track surface had worsened to the extent that I considered the place to be a $hit Hole. Thanks to worn-out dirt and WOO-style track "prep" for saving me several more jaunts to Eldora over the past few years.
And now it continues to get worse.............:42::

I don't think it is USAC's fault at all. It's all on Eldora the way I see it. Don't think I said anything different in my post. I will see as much USAC as possible this year.

Since when does USAC do track prep ?

USAC Not to blame for Eldora`s mess.
 

I Will attend as many USAC races as I can this summer.They have
the best races of any org. when given a race track to race on.
USAC had nothing to do with track prep. at the once great big E.

i have said this for 3 years fire larry and larry bozo brothers and you said i had a problem with eldora! Now you all find out 3 years to late that i was right! I'am not blaming usac but they need to get ride of 3 people and hire someone that knows the problems in open wheel racing! I said *** to the guy that blamed usac go back and read! I agree, I've always seen Marv with a "Deal With it!" attitude.

Believe me, A lot of people lost patience before I did, I really didn't get mad till I heard they weren't offering refunds.
