Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
Is the president of SPEED CHANNEL married to Danica Patrick??

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
They won't shut up about Danica and Alli Owens is having a great run! They want a female talk about her

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
Maybe they get paid a bonus everytime they say Danica

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
just when i thought I couldn't dislike Ol' DW anymore than I already do..... I swear he's even more annoying kissing up to little miss media than usual, which is saying alot...... maybe someone told DW that Wahnica would sell more t-shirts than Digger Waltrip

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
She actually didn't have that bad of a race. Looked real uncomfortable racing at close quarters early in the race, but seemed to get over it some towards the end. She was one of the few that was going up there to try to advance herself, in the last handful of laps.

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
typical danica finish in mid pack............dont start on me that there were like 86 cars in this race.......she was still mid pack of those who "deserve" to be out there...and i use that term loosly! deserve.. *** does she deserve??!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!??!

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I'll bet she worries and fretts about us all the way to the BANK.

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I don't care if Danica is running or not. But the coverage being on one driver 80 percent of the time SUCKS. They did the same thing with whats his name a few years ago and he actually is doing pretty good now but SHEESH!
|
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
It's her first race of the season....of course she is going to get a ton of media coverage etc. The more people dislike her, the more attention she gets, just like on here. I'm not the biggest Danica fan out there, but the woman has talent or she wouldn't be behind a wheel period. I'm not saying she is the best of the best by any means....but give her some credit. She's not going anywhere for awhile, and she will be the talk of the media like it or not. She makes alot of money doing something alot of us wish we could be doing....

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
If you missed the SPEED broadcast this afternoon, it was Danica THIS and Danica THAT every three seconds for the ENTIRE stupid broadcast. It was TV journalism at its worst moment for a couple of hours. They even had some female pit announcer apparently following her around for the last 24 hours and taking detailed notes everytime she took a pi$$ and then reporting on it. And would some race team please hire DW as a pitside babysitter or something to get him off the tube.

:16 A sure sign of the apocalypse and end of the world...DonMoore10 and EP FINALLY agree on something.
All Danica all the time. How about the fine run from Bobby Gerhardt or a couple others? :8: |

And while I'm at it, too many of these TV personalities and performers don't have a clue when it's time to get off the stage. I'm wondering who decided to resurrect Ken Squire from the dead and unheard of and put him back on TV. He was embarrassing. They could have at least given the guy a decent haircut for a national broadcast. He looked disheveled and totally out of place. The ARCA broadcast today should go down as one of the most poorly produced TV events in recent history.

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I'm not a Danica fan by any stretch of the imagination, but she did a very credible job. She goes to the tail , and ends up sixth in her first taxi cab race. Not to shabby at all.She even got spun out and didn't whine, a first.
She also didn't pull the routine Milka did, the usual dive bomber act. One race doesn't make a career, but for Danica it wasn't a bad start. |
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
She ran as well as any other Indy Car driver has done in their first race. Is the media crazy over her? Absolutely, but it isn't HER fault. Give her her due -- she's finished 4th and 3rd in the Indy 500 and she ran 6th in her first Stock Car Race.
Good Lord, people -- I think it's obvious she DESERVES her ride. Grow up. ZANK |
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
Can she drive? I'd say avg. at best. She has the best equip. in the field, half the field wrecked (which is a whole other story). She spins and goes to the tail which is what 20th if that? and passes a bunch of junk, not impressive. It's hard enough for guys to get rides even with money, now they have to get boobies?..j/k
Does she deserve all the attention? A resounding NO! I was literally waiting for them to get to victory lane and ask Gerhardt what he thought about Danica's debut. It was just waaay overkill. |

Good job young lady, I like her and am proud of her.

I really think the guys that danica passed would have bought hendricks engines it would have made it harder for her to pass them.

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
Guess I am just different than some of you. I can barely make myself watch this crap even in the winter. But the trucks and ARCA I don't mind a little. Seems fairly entertaining and somewhat grass roots at times.
But I really don't see the issue. Then again I didn't watch the whole race so I didn't get to hear all the talk about her. The part I watched I think she deserved to be talked about. I think both her and Owens did a heck of a job. Oh well. |
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I didn't watch the race (thanks Insight), but I heard from a fairly impartial friend that Danica's save through the grass was pretty impressive...not to mention, I'd love to finish 6th in an ARCA car just about anywhere, not just Daytona...

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
She's new to taxi's that's why the media coverage. Did you see the reporters after the race all wanting her opinion about everything taxi. I was blown away by this.
First, she had the best car by far and maybe 3-4 others could compete with this. Second, moving through that Arca field is like Darland moving through traffic at Bloomington on a regular Friday night show. Third, I don't think the transition was that big of a deal, your going 40 mph slower. I actually enjoy Arca at times because the races are shorter and the action is pretty good, but if it becomes the Danica series, I'm probably gonna miss a few races. |

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I amazed by the "she had the best car 'by far'" comments. How, exactly, do you know that, and even if she did, since when does "having the best car" automatically propel a race driver to the front? Reason would have it, I would think -- if Danica had the best car in the ARCA field then Earnhardt Jr should have had the best car in the Shootout -- but, he didn't seem to set anything on fire last night...
Hey -- I'm not defending her because she's a girl, or a celebrity, or new, or any other reason other than she went out there in a new car on a new track in a new series and ran 6th. She probably could have easily ran 5th but, unlike what some of you are stating (that she isn't much of a race car driver) she took a racing chance, moved up off of the yellow line and TRIED to advance her position. I wouldn't have, but she did cause she wants to win. If any of you think Danica Patrick is out there on the race track to get attention and media coverage and to look pretty and to be talked about and doesn't really care that much about "winning races," you are sadly mistaken. Danica is no different than Jr. Nobody in NASCAR could talk about ANYTHING or ANYBODY else for years other than Earnhardt Jr. Now, because of fairly lackluster results, it has quieted down somewhat. But, he is still voted 'Most Popular Driver' year after year after year. Doubting Danica cares much this morning about our ranting and raving on IOW.com. Because she drove a good race yesterday she is arguably even more 'media-loved' than yesterday. She did what was expected of her or any other new driver -- she finished the race in the top-ten. And I'm one fan of racing that was justifiably impressed. JP |
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I am not sure i ever saw a incar camera showing someone spinning on the grass like that with her in it? Didnt it remind you of some screwed up episode of "Barbie" when they were showing how bored she was when they red flagged the race and were showing her eyes?
I was not a fan before the race of hers but did think a little more of her after the race she had and her interview after. I just hate all the media hype she gets!! |
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
I agree they focused too much on her, but again, that's not her fault. I think she did all right. To be honest, there was a pretty good crowd there. I think it was a lot better than the ARCA race usually has. Was it all for her? Probably not, but the media circus did create some excitement, and that was good for ARCA as a whole, not just Danica. Also, DW has to go. He's terrible.

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
Three thoughts:
1. What do you expect from a program where the signature phrase is "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity?" 2. Even though we are tired of it, ARCA is loviing all of the exposure this is giving to their series. 3. Whether we like it or not, she did a pretty good job (That's what bugs those waiting for her to plant it into the wall.) -- for a rookie with a lot to learn about stock car racing. Did we really expect anything different? Well, I guess that's four thoughts. |
Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
She was there at the end which you have to be if you want to win any race . She got the job done fellas

Some of you really get fired up when it is anything about Danica... all you're really doing is contributing to the hype. They (NASCAR,Danica, ARCA) don't care what you have to say... just as long as you're talking about them.

Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
Though I DO NOT LIKE IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM like the attitude she has exuded in the past, or the media attention she has recieved, the fact that there are alot more drivers out there running the small tracks, male and female, that on driving talent would be more deserving a shot at the big time, I (bite my tongue) have got to give her credit on the drive she made in the ARCA show. She did nothing but follow for awhile, but she really seemed to be hustling the car pretty well at the end. She made the most of the seat time she was allotted and for the first time racing the fender variety, I believe she did pretty damn good. Hell she may even win one this year.
Not knocking her in any way but one thing I did find very amusing was, on the in car camera shots, she reminded me of a girl about the size of a 12 year old girl holding onto a semi-truck steering wheel. |
