Hendry County??
Anyone know what is going on at Hendry County. Their schedule says they run sprints tonight. any updates?

Re: Hendry County??
Clewiston update - at least 75 degrees today. 7 nonwing sprint drivers at the practice session tonight. Christian in the 1C; Tmez in the 4G; Justin Grant in the Baldwin 5 (light blue this year); Nick Speidel in the 21; Short in the 36; Bland Jr. in the blue and orange 38S; and Gardner in the 71.
The most exciting, and potentially tragic, part of the night was when an alert Kevin Brisco yelled loud enough and long enough to make the flagman realize that he was about to throw the green for the sprints while two people were walking at the top of the track in turn one looking for something and the push car was still on the track. Great job, Kevin! |

Re: Hendry County??
The good news Friday; 78 degrees. The bad news; rain. The weather looks good for tomorrow. Joining the 7 who were there yesterday for practice I saw Eric Smith in the #14, Stanbrough in the #53, and Caleb Armstrong in the Parker/Clausen 7C, Mark Weber in the 22W and saw Chris Windom but it rained before they even started unloading. Must have missed one. Sorry to whoever it was.

Ricky Williams in the 11w possibly. Nope scratch that, wasn't him.

Re: Hendry County??
Interesting situation with the #53. Came in the Peterbilt hauler with Peterbilt decals on the car. I wonder if this is a one off deal for the Florida swing.

Al I believe it is a FL deal.....but either way its good news.

Re: Hendry County??
Just curious how much were these races paying to win? Wish they could have gotten more than just 13 cars but I know it's a long haul down there.

Re: Hendry County??
I believe I heard them say over the PA system last night that it was $2,000; $1,300; $800; down to $300 for 10th. It was raining and the wind was blowing hard, but I think that is what I heard.

Frank
whats the weather doing down there? You think they will get it in tonight? Bob |
Re: Hendry County??
Right now (1:24 local time) it is 72 and breezy. Should be no problem tonight at all. I started looking 15 days ago and the only question was always last night. Guess this shows how accurate a 15 day forecast can be. Should be a good evening.

From my kid at the track, 2:05 EST. Weather good no issues and 16 +/- sprint cars already there.

Re: Hendry County??
15 cars, Brady Short sets new track record in time trials at 14.119. Three 5 car heats, totally inverted, with first 2 to the Dash which sets the first 3 rows of the feature.
HEAT #1 {(w/car# & starting position in ( )} - 53 Stanbrough (3); 1C Christian (2); 36 Short (5); 7 Armstrong (4); 22W Weber (1) HEAT #2 - 17B Burdette (3); 14 Smith (1); 38S Bland (4); 21 Speidel (2); 4 Cummins-DNF (5) HEAT #3 - 4G T Mez (1); 11 Windom (5); 71 Gardner (4); 1X Gross (2); 5 Justin Grant (3) DASH - 11 Windom (4); 17 Burdette (5); 1C Christian (3); 4G T Mez (6); 14 Smith (1); 53 Stanbrough (2) FEATURE (partial) - 11 Windom (1); 4G T Mez (4); 36 Short (7); 1C Christian (3); 53 Stanbrough (6); 17B Burdette (2); 71 Gardner (9); 4 Cummins (14); 5 Grant (15); 7 Armstrong (10) Chris Windom flat out had them covered tonight on what looked like a very difficult track to drive on. It would be interesting to hear some driver comments on the conditions. Nice job by Kyle Cummins also. As usual, the drivers put on a good show which certainly impressed the locals I was sitting near. |
