Due to circumstances beyond our control the last couple of years we ended up in the 70's. My goal in 2010 is to try and get back to that 80+ mark. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we get to see some exciting shows.

My Schedule, I expect to be somewhere around 40-50. Being that I haven't worked a full week all year I don't expect that number to change too much. Although I would like to make it down to Indiana for a few days to some tracks I have never been to.

Selected 10-20. But if I hit 10, I will be happy.

I'm shooting for the high end of the 20 to 30's. The best part is that at least 6 of that number are races in Indiana!

Re: How many races do you hope you"ll attend in 2010

I haven't worked it out yet, either. With HRP dropping their weekly show, I won't be able to do two in a weekend (or one night) like I did last year. I may catch a few more USMTS shows this year, at least around Texas. I still plan two Indiana trips. To be honest, I don't really compete with track or race chasing. I try and make all the events that I can and shoot what I can. How it all shakes out at year's end is fine with me, as long as I have had a good time. And any time spent at a race track is pretty much better than the alternative.

Well, with losing my job on Monday I hope to make it to 5 or 6 this year. If I can get back in a job somewhere soon I hope to hit more but who knows right now.

I hope to make all of them, but realistically, I'll be lucky if I make it to 10 this year. Little money + health issues = few races.:(

Jake, sorry to hear about your job loss, so far Kyle's still working, I think he turns the lights on when he goes in, and turns them off when he leaves, they are that low on employees. Looks like we've got our main sponsor back on for this season, and looks like we've got enough spares left to go another season, so as of right now, we're planning on running the schedule we have right now. Good luck finding more employment, Jake, I think most of us have been in your situation, at one time or another. Bob

I'm going for 100 again this year.

Hopefully they'll have a "Working mans" class for fan of the year this year. Then I might win it.

Shooting for 30 plus, most of Midget Week and Sprint Week.

I really hope LPS is back to it's old form. I used to go there just for something to do on a Sat. night, back in the day.

Working mans class? Do you mean a non-working mans class, as in at the track and not working. Wait maybe we need to redefine that, At the track and not getting paid to be there. Then again that would include 90% of the pits. Ok, Quinn, what would be a "working mans" definition?

Andrew S. Quinn 2/3/10 4:40 PM

Re: How many races do you hope you"ll attend in 2010

How much time have you got for me to define the working mans class??

Work 40 hours a week, not good hours conducive to being a race fan (4am to 12:30PM) Sleeping in the van with 219K miles on it with no air con, most race nights during the week sleeping in said van in the parking lot at work hoping to get 2 hours sleep, and one late night last yr from Macon,a whopping 45 minutes of sleep (And the young guys in their 20s were telling me how tired they were !!) Wanting to hold the steering wheel straight and sleep for just one mile on I-70 or wherever I might be at the time just to catch up on sleep....etc etc.... Trying to go to as many races as possible each year. Thats why I moved to Indy....I didnt move here from one of the most scenic States in the Country to look at corn growing!

Need more??

I'm hoping to hit 331 shows, one each day for the rest of the year, but realistically I expect to make around 30.

Instead of "working man's" class, how about "pro" & "amateur"?
Pro for those who don't have to pay for their own ticket (photogs, track workers, push truck drivers, sanctioning body staff & some race crew members).
Amateur for those who have to PERSONALLY pay at the gate.

No to early in the season and the Florida schedule and my work schedule dont mix right now. I see most of my races during the summer.

If you think New Jersey is scenic, you need new glasses!!:2::2::2:

Good idea, and better wording than I used. Should have 3 different groups I am thinking

1 Pro - Doesnt pay to get in
2 Tired- Works for a living and goes racing as often as possible.Often without much sleep in between
3 Retired- Rather self explanatory

The I spose we should have a section just on beer drinkers.

1 Who can drink the most Bud
2 Who drinks the most imported beer (From Pa. aka Dingaling beer)
3 Who can drink the most beer while standing on their head.

Things like that:2::2::2::2:

Most Bud, would have to go with Budman on that one. As for New Jersey, most scenic, because everyone drives through it and doesn't stop. Aero definitely deserves some kind of award, what that would be I am not exactly sure, maybe most sprint car tattoos.
