Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits TNT 2010 Schedule Revealed
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (February 2, 2010) – For the sixth consecutive year, the Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits Tour ‘N Topless series will once again offer up some of the nation’s premier wingless Sprint Car racing action. And, this year’s edition of TNT will include a bit more than the annual August swing through the heartland, with another half dozen events on the series’ 2010 slate. The 2010 edition of Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits TNT will kick off with a Texas triple at Beaumont’s Golden Triangle Raceway Park, Baytown’s Houston Raceway Park and then Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway on April 30, May 1 and May 2. The following weekend, TNT ignites atop the famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, on May 7 before tackling the high-banked, ¼-mile I-30 Speedway red clay oval the following night. After a stop at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks”, Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO, on June 19, next up is the Sixth Annual Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits Tour ‘N Topless Midwest Swing. The sixth annual August slate of events opens up on Sunday night, August 15, at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, IA, where the series initial attempt was rained out last year. From there, it’s on to Nebraska Raceway Park’s I-80 Speedway on Monday night, before taking to Missouri’s ½-mile Sedalia State Fair Speedway on Tuesday night. After an off night, the series shifts to the cozy confines of Sapulpa, Oklahoma’s Creek County Speedway on Thursday night, August 19, before finishing out the week with the annual $10,000 to win Ron Shuman Classic at Kansas City’s Lakeside Speedway on August 20-21. This year’s standard Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits TNT events will offer up a $3,000 winner’s share with $300 to start along with $300 tow money to the top ten in series points. A points fund totaling $1,000 per event will be distributed among the series top teams at the end of the season. Several other events are under discussion and will be added to the schedule as details are finalized. Broken Arrow’s Brady Bacon is the reigning Lucas Oil Sprint Bandits TNT champion after topping three feature events en route to the 2009 crown, joining the likes of Dave Darland (2008), Robert Ballou and Tim Kaeding (2007), Jesse Hockett (2006) and Levi Jones (2005) as past TNT title bearers. Re: 2010 TnT schedule
Not as stout a schedule as I had expected. Didn't they originally plan on 30-35 races?

Re: 2010 TnT schedule
I thought there was going to be a substantial point fund??
This was going to rival USAC, I thought... |
Re: 2010 TnT schedule
It does say they are working on some more dates.. At Chili Bowl I was told that they planned on trying to grow it a little bigger each year. Pretty good purses, tow money, and $1000 a night goes to the point fund... Sounds like a pretty good deal to me..

Re: 2010 TnT schedule
I'd like to hit a race or two in Texas,or Devils Bowl and Little Rock.
Have to see what the wallet says when it gets closer. I plan on doing all of the T n T races in August. |
Re: 2010 TnT schedule
I had heard at the STN's last Nov. that the race at I-30 was a go. That would be a killer track to see a wingless race at as long as it was in good shape. Unfortunately there's always some kind of scheduling conflicts and that is the night of the Hut 100 at Haubstadt and I'm going to the make the trip up there. Don't really know who else would make the trip down to Tx. and I-30 for those first two weekends, maybe Ballou and Gardner. Hope these races are a success. I'm sure it's been years since a wingless race has been ran at Devil's Bowl.

Re: 2010 TnT schedule
I have pretty much everything in place, but cant quite name everyone involved yet, but It will be back with owner Eric Barnhill. The car #10x will be a DRC with Stanton Mopar engines. I have a couple other people that will be helping out and will announce those soon.

The car count will depend heavily on what the weather will look like for that weekend. Good weather = good car counts. Take the over! |
