Lasoski released from Chili Bowl ride

LOYET MOTORSPORTS PRESS RELEASE

“Lasoski released from Chili Bowl Ride”

Tulsa, Okla., Jan. 14---Joe Loyet of Loyet Motorsports has released Danny Lasoski from his driving duties at the 2010 Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, effective Thursday morning.

This decision comes as a response to the financial situation stemming from the Bull Ring Midget Nationals at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. Lasoski and Scott Pennington were co-promoters of the December 18-19 event. Competitors have yet to receive the purse payout for Saturday Night’s events.

“Loyet Motorsports feels they have an obligation to show support to the other owners and drivers who participated in that event. “We hold no ill-will to Danny, but felt that it was best for both parties to go their separate ways at this time” said Loyet.

Lasoski competed in Tuesday night’s event for the team. There will be no replacement driver for the event.

One thing's for sure. If they don't get this situation straightened out, like yesterday, this event (Bull Ring Midget Nationals) will cease to exist.

One has to wonder if anybody will pick him up. I'd like to say no but...

Loyet might have just saved himself a racecar.

I hope things get straightened out w the Kemper deal. It seemed like a success. I guess it was if you overlook some details

There is more to this than meets the eye. If you look at the posts on http://karting.4cycle.com/showthread.php?t=294179 you will see that Lasoski had nothing to do with the money part of the event and the person responsible has admitted fault.

As far as Lasoski finding another ride....Hard to say, but if I had a car sitting, I'd put him in it. He's come real close to winning it on several occasions and he's never been tough on equipment.

i think this a good move by loyet and if i was out that much money i would do the samething. from what i have been hearing the whole kemper deal was pretty much a bad deal and it sounds like lasoski didnt live up to his end of the deal.

Loyet lost a ton of money. So did Danny. Im not sure how much danny was involved in the $$ end of the event.

I learned a lesson a long time ago when I was a carpet installer.
CASH CHECKS AT THE ISSUERS BANK! You get paid, the bounce goes on the issuer!

Chuck, knowing sometimes thats not possible but its a good rule to live by

This is my point to my previous post: Not everyone sees things the same way, and since Lasoski is the 'face' of the problem, regardless of the facts, he is held accountable to others' perceptions.

Loyet's support of other participants in the Kemper event is admirable. Not that anything would happen to Lasoski in Loyet's car-it's all racing. But Sammy's crashed twice this week already. It happens. It's expensive.

My opinion is that - opinion. He may be better to back away from the midget scene until the Kemper deal is all cleared up, so he doesn't have to keep explaining instead of racing.

I would think Mr Lasoski would make a public statement to clear things up as to money and responsibility just my thought

I'm thinking that Danny would, but only if he was running a Dri-Bar system, v8j.

In all seriousness, this is a bad situation for everyone involved. However, it's sad that the teams take the biggest hit out of the whole deal. If Mr. Loyet felt like the was "wronged", then I'm glad he made the move. Hopefully they will get this cleared up as soon as possible.

By the way, I'm also wondering if he would have locked it into Saturday Night's A-Main, if things would be different. That, or was it just that Danny had a deadline to pay Loyet the cash?

Re: Lasoski released from Chili Bowl ride

I personally would be more impressed with this decision if Lasoski was locked into maybe the B-main or somthin... Not the F-main.... To me it looks more like "we'll capitalize on this" and save a car since theres a VERY SLIM chance its goin to much farther forward.... Or better yet... This situation didnt occur overnight... Release him before he gets out on the track... Dont get me wrong, I like the Loyets, ran micros with them.. decent bunch.. And I dont know Danny's side of this, but if were bein admirable to the people involved... HE SHOULDNT HAVE GOT TO RUN TUESDAY NIGHT....

I think its more about saving a car than saving face....
Nice press release though...

I think Id rather read the press release patting Brad on the back about his performance than bad press about Danny

My 2 cents... Though ill get slammed for it

Sounds like a team that was expecting and should have had several thousands of dollars in their accounts by now....

I don't see how they can be blamed for this business decision.

KSmith15 1/16/10 11:05 AM

Re: Lasoski released from Chili Bowl ride

Not Blaming.... Jus sayin if it were a huge issue he shoulda never been in the car to begin with....
