POWRi schedule
I haven't seen it posted yet, the 2010 schedule is out. There is a lot of shows for us in Lincoln Land.

Re: POWRi schedule
No races in Indiana except for the Haubstadt date, I thought they had some solid dates at other tracks.

Re: POWRi schedule
I really like the 6 shows at Little Belleville and Granite City :6:

Re: POWRi schedule
"POWRi will join forces with USAC at three events this season beginning with a joint event at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL on Friday April 30th. Tri-State Speedway will be the host of the Hut 100 at Haubstadt, IN bringing the two midget groups together for the famed event on Sat. May 8th. The Gold Crown Midget Nationals will cap the co-sanctioned events with three days of racing on Sept."
Looks like this should help get a full field at Haubstadt in May. |
Re: POWRi schedule
I'm glad to see Powri and USAC get together for the Hut 100. I was a little concerned what the field would be like, but now I'm feeling a lot better about making the long trip for that race.

Re: POWRi schedule
I have a major complaint. The schedule sucks. Why? They assumed that everyone knows where all of the tracks are located. How much trouble would it have been to put the tracks location on the schedule. I know where some are located, but have no clue where the others are at. Not very fan friendly.

This info was just released yesterday. I'm sure when they get it posted to their website, it will have all of your info, as their schedule has since the organizations' inception. Or, you could buy a couple o maps.....:2: |
Re: POWRi schedule
Looks like I could be spending quite a bit of time in Illinois this summer.

Re: POWRi schedule
:31:The first race is March 27th in some place called DuQuoin,Illinois.I think there is another race next year in the same town. Mabey you will get a clue by then ! Good Luck.........

Since you are having trouble with the track locations, here is a link that should help you find them all. Good luck. http://www.speedwaysonline.com/HTML/...valtracks.html |

Yes, I can go online and look up where all of these tracks are at, but the point is that I should not have to. You can only release your schedule one time. You only have one time to create some buzz about your schedule. I obviously took the time to go the Powri site to see the schedule, but instead of getting excited it made me mad. I can only schedule 3 or 4 big overnight trips for the year. Everything else has to be close enough for me to drive home after the race. This was POWRI's chance to get some of my travel budget. Now, they probably will not get any of it. |

Re: POWRi schedule
Jonr,
If you would have read the article, you would have seen that 3/4 of the tracks had their city and state listed. OPEN YOUR EYES! |
Re: POWRi schedule
[QUOTE=Jonr;153345]The second race of the year is at Shepp's Speedway. I am guessing this is next to Larry and Curly's house.
No I don't think so. I believe that it is across the street from Moe's!:19::2: |
Re: POWRi schedule
maybe u should put a lil more effort into looking at what some article says instead of coming on here and complaining to everyone that u dont know where the tracks are at and u seem to be the only one doing so.

Obviously you have only attended races in the internet age. Before computers, we had to wait for the sanctioning bodies schedule to come out in the Speed Sport News (with no directions), cut it out until you had everyone's schedule you were interested in, then get out the Rand McNally atlas. Spend $14, or $10 if you see him at the track, on Allen Brown's excellent Speedway Directory ( www.speedwaysonline.com ) and you'll never want for directions again. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here with a few yellowed, dog eared schedules from the 80's in the scrapbook. jim thurman |
Re: POWRi schedule
Two observations. First, only California had more drivers than Illinois at the Chili Bowl. I counted 18 as the states marched around the track. Missouri had a bunch also, as did Indiana. Second, I believe that most of them can be seen at POWRi shows. Should be a good year. By the way, does anyone know why Lehman Racing pulled out of the CB? Donnie had several cars entered but didn't come. Hope nothing bad happened.
|
Re: POWRi schedule
I heard the story going around on Friday, that apparently Donnie had possibly suffered a concussion after taking a fall on ice last week.
Don't know any facts or details, or how serious it may have been, that's all I heard..... The first time in 17 years we haven't seen the Lehman 31 in Tulsa. I hope the "Big Guy" and family are doing well. |
Re: POWRi schedule
Thanks Randy. I join you in hoping that it is not serious and wishing him a quick and complete recovery.

Re: POWRi schedule
When you get chance take a look at the POWRI website again. the have updated the schedule tab now. it takes you to a page with all the races listed. You can click the names of the tracks and it has location, directions, phone number etc.
I think the earlier schedule that did not have as much info on it was just copied from the press release. I know we live in the "i want it now" information age, but you've got to remember it does take time to update websites etc. Looks like a really good schedule to me. Some good tracks and alot of STL area stuff. BTW, does anybody want to buys some signs. This is my third or fourth post today, i really need some business to distract me from the message boards for a while, LOL Steve |
Re: POWRi schedule
It is unforunate that POWRi and USAC have races scheduled the same weekend -- June 26. Belle-Claire and 34 Raceway

Re: POWRi schedule
Not really. The Burlington show really needed some support, and I was told that Miller asked early on that POWRi help them out and decide on which date worked....when they wouldn't be scheduled against them. He even mentioned that he welcomed any POWRi races on Friday and/or Sunday to be near the Burlington date, not only to pad the Burlington car count but also to give Brown some guys on their to/from Burlington and the racers a chance at another race.
So who is the guy who is not interested in working together? |
Re: POWRi schedule
Belle Clair is a track that has been running midgets for 50 years and is the home track for POWRi why give up a regular show just to help out USAC?
Wally |
Re: POWRi schedule
Does it really look like a regular show to you? Did POWRi run a race on that weekend last year? Did Brown tell Miller that he planned a race that Saturday? Or that Friday? Did Miller ask Brown to help him decide what date would be best for that race? Did Miller ask that he not schedule against that race? Did Miller offer to leave Friday or Sunday open to promote his guys going to support POWRi?
I guess only Miller and Brown really know. But I was worried all along that Brown would end up screwing Miller on this weekend in the end. Looks to me like Brown wants to be important, and somehow make himself the "National" midget series by undermining USAC. Congratulations, Kenny...I'll probably be at Belleville. And everyone will lose out because Burlington will get the short end of the stick and give up on sprints and midgets. |
Re: POWRi schedule
This is a special for Belle-Clair and is a 2 day deal. Why should the local cars and drivers give it up to support USAC? For years USAC has schuled race on same dates as BADGER, MARA. SLARA. Now they want them because they need car count. POWERi has got a good thing going because of Kenny and Jim why do we need USAC to screw it up

Re: POWRi schedule
May I suggest a BMARA co-sanction at Burlington.

I doubt it after USAC came into the prairie with no regard in letting badger make an ounce of decision in a "co-sanctioned" show... But i've seen crazier things happen..... |
Re: POWRi schedule

If Brown had been up front about what he was doing from the beginning, USAC would have picked another date and everyone would have been happy. But that's not what Kenny wants. |
