I would love to see nonwing sprints at Lasalle Speedway. Even if you could run once a month would be great.

Re: Non wing interest@ lasalle speedway?

Would love to see it, and would support it from Indiana as much as possible.
Would also support a USAC Sprint and/or midget event, maybe coinciding with the Burlington date? Friday or Sunday of that late June weekend would be a perfect fit...

With Danville rumored to have a new promoter and running Fridays, this would make an awesome year for IL sprint cars and their fans.
$800 to win - $300 to start. DT-3, MC-3.....whatever, run them all, even the new Goodyear. Either way, I'm on board.

An early Christmas present for me if it happens.......
Real (non-wing) sprint cars on a good track an hour from home!! Now that would be a change.

This is a great facility. I have raced there, and loved it, and one of the most exciting races I ever saw, was an Outlaws race at LaSalle. Scary fast.:6:

The Outlaw races at Lasalle were awesome. Anybody I ever took there said that was the best Outlaw racing they had ever seen. Just curious. Would the sprints be replacing the late models as the top division?

I would love to see this happen. Never been to Lasalle but have heard alot of good things about it.

I highly doubt this would replace the late models as the top division. Lasalle has the Illinois Fall Nationals (use to be at the Springfield mile) so it will remain a fender heavy track until something changes.

:6:As an owner driver I would be happy to support it but I think you need to pay a little more than $800 to win. $300 to start is great...

As a fan, I would make a couple trips north.

Is this steel block motors or the real sprintcar motors?

I went up a few years for the WoO show, even though I really don't like them. Great show!!! If all WoO shows were like that I could become a fan of theirs. If you haven't been to the track I think you will really like it. Non-wings should put on a spectacular show. I'll certainly make the drive north.

Here is a cool link of an in-car cam from Shannon Babb at Lasalle. If we get to run there, it will be a back-r-in kind of place.

I am with Chad needs to be more than $800 to win but $300 to start is right. I have ran there with a wing in the past it is a nice place, hope it happens and if it does count me in.
Thanks Chris Urish

Re: Non wing interest@ lasalle speedway?

That would be the great news for openwheel fans here. If it happens I guess I will be looking for a sprintcar, Lets just all support the idea we just need to show the promoters strong car counts in this economy and maybe we can have a place to race. One of the best prepared dirt tracks in midwest. All I can say it would sure beat watching the taxi cab races!

Re: Non wing interest@ lasalle speedway?

Sounds like a good place to race. I think you will find that $800 to win wont draw many guys from IN. but maybe you dont want to. Most all tracks in IN. pay at least $1200 or more for a weekly show. I do wish you luck as anywhere to race is a good thing.

Drivers/fans.......this is good feedback. And yes $1000 to win

and $1250 to win and more *can* happen !!

Car count + fans = pur$e , no suprises there !

.....its that simple !! Lots of interest here.... Glad to see it...

What other ideas do you drivers/owners/fans have ?

I hope this is not a joke. If this is true we are in and looking forward to it becoming reality. Come on Hammer here is a non wing deal how about crossing back over. Give us 3 or 4 shows in Lincoln or Illinois sprint week.

As much as I would like to see this happen, I have a feeling its a joke. Lassale has not had a sprint car race in years. When there is a sprint car race on the schedule it gets cancelled. Sounds to good to be true.

No joke guys. Izzos are on board......no- a schedule isnt out yet, no -its not on their website either. First we needed to see if there was interest in nonwing racing from all the illinois guys. In lasallle.....wow is there

we have got some great pm's from some of you. Thank you for those, we have some things in place, some things to get done..........guys, its the real thing, as alot of folks in this economy , before jumping the gun, we need to know will you drivers and owners and fans come to lasalle speedway and support this. We all need a nonwing saturday night track. Easy to get to , established, good track prep, nice place to race.
Sure there will be na-sayers, thats normal, but they are invited too come opening night. Lets move forward towards getting it done. It seems like everyone is excited, i know we are!!
Now-get some last minute xmas shopping done and stay tuned to iow for more scoop to come !!

Non-wing at Lasalle would be great from a owner/driver. We would make the hour trip as much as possible.

Re: Non wing interest@ lasalle speedway?

Any chance of coming to SE Wisconsin?, you have Wilmot Speedway a 1/3, semi banked oval and they race sprints on a weekly basis.
