2010 Little 500 - Anderson Speedway
 

I apologize if this has already been posted, but I noticed that "Must See Racing" is now the sanctioning body of the "Payless Little 500" at Anderson Speedway.

Probably a good call. The USAC sanction on the race has never really had any meaning, and taking the USAC name off this race might serve to bring back some little guys who may have been scared away by the name. And, is there now some slack in the safety rules? We all know that takes some people away...

I tried to get the USAC member pit pass discount at the last Little 500 and was told that USAC didn't have anything to do with the event.

I could be wrong, but the USAC safety rules weren't enforced for that event.

There were more than 40 cars last year. USAC doesn't scare teams off, the massive tire bill does.

I just hope they have the big wing show on Wed. night again. Those guys put on a heck of a show! Plus I think that show really helped make the entire 500 field much more competitve last year. First time in a long time, there were a few good cars that did not make the field.

I have been told the wing cars will run prior to the big show again this year. AND it is going to be on TV with 11 other races in the series for 2010!

If you're asking about Bowman Racing and Eric Gordon, it's all an unknown at this time. Not being a wisenheimer(sp?), it's just that 2010 is still kinda up in the air in all respects.

Sam is correct. We are fielding a wing car in 2010 to get more time in a car for our driver and team.

I sure hope EG and Bowman return for at least the 500 in 2010, it won't be the same without you guys.:32:

First time posting on this forum. Didn't know it existed till about a month ago.

I look forward to the Little 500 every May. Fun race to watch, expecially the start. I don't think there will be any rexaxing of safety with the changeover. Like someone mentioned earlier, USAC really wasn't involved in the running of the race.

The safety crews were MUCH more careful last year following the death of a track worker in in an accident in 2007.

HURRICANE interpreter66 the car was red and had a 91 on it......

racefanindy, Welcome aboard IOW.

We are still working on our schedule, basically we are waiting on USAC to release their schedule to complete ours. It will definately include the Little 500 and some pavement wing races.

Yup they had plenty of cars and some were selling their spots too :)... USAC or not the little 500 is the little 500 and only the few dare to run it :)... Its more to do with money and a competent driver than a sponsoring body ...

Out of curiosity, do you mean that you're going to run a Hurricane car or were you referring to the car in your avatar?

just glad to hear the 07 car will be back for the little 500. Hopefully Gordon and his team get things worked out. I have enjoyed the battles the last few years. I do have to admit, last years cast made for a great show, hopefully everyone gets to return.
