Should there be an off-topic discussion forum here?

Should there be an off-topic discussion forum here?

Let me know what you think and I will/won't make it happen.

Can we divert all arguments about USAC there?

What, and then have nothing left to discuss here?

Bill, can you define off-topic? If that includes a political forum, no thanks. Again...I do not wish to know what my race friends' ******** are. Chances are good mine isn't the same. They won't change my mind and I have no interest in changing theirs. I've asked people to not send me any of that stuff (often debunked with a little homework), yet they still do. Of course it now goes to my spam folder.

Since any discussion about USAC is not really considered off-topic, then no I don't think so.

I was thinking anything truly off-topic... like other sports... I don't know... anything. I really didn't have ******** in mind because I'm not interested in talking about it with anyone. Well, except family.... I like it then because it is a real hot button... I'll always choose the other side.:3: Do you want to be part of my family??? :5:

What would be done to keep Off topic posts on topic? OR.....Off Topic.

the forum would still have rules... and would be moderated the same as every other forum.

22 members have read this thread and only 9 votes.... C'mon folks... it is useless for me to ask questions and try to improve this site if you don't respond.

I would say it is fine just the way it is. I can pick and choose without having to go to another forum. Just my opinion.:)

I'm with Danny on this one. One of the best things about this site is the lack of political rants/discussions. I read this thread last night but didn't vote because I was not logged in and because I wanted to think about it before voting. My first thoughts were to vote no and now that I've given it some more thought, that's still the way I think so I am voting no now.

I am on a few other sites (mostly weather sites) and there you post a topic makred OT in bold and it can stay in the general discussion board unless the moderators see it as truly stupid then it is moved to an OT forum but mostly they are allowed to stay in the general forums if marked OT. These can range from major news headlines, polls about current events, sports teams, holidays, basicly anything not weather related or in this case with indianaopenwheel things not racing related.

:2: I knew there was a reason I like you.

On Facebook, I'm a member of a group that discusses......religion? Yep. It stays very civil even when people disagree.

www.trackforum.com has both an off-topic and current events section. I avoid the CE section like a plague...or a sewer.

At the other end TF.com has a great Nostalgia message board where you can learn a bit. Especially when mac miller cranks it up.;)

Since being advised to leave TF, the nostalgia board and the short track board are the only ones I miss. Looks like this one will take care of both of those now. :)
