I'm also tired of hearing about how Jeff Gordon and ryan Newman somehow owe something to open-wheel racing simply because this is where they came from. Open-wheel racing didn't make Jeff Gordon famous, ESPN and Jeff Gordon, himself, made Jeff Gordon famous. |

[QUOTE=NJDMONEY;24261]Is this thread about this thread or the horrible broadcast of the Chili Bowl?
I couldn't agree more but for them to suggest the PPV, Lucas Oil, General Tire, and Dodge would be sponsors without the heavy NASCAR influence is simply laughable. I'm also tired of hearing about how Jeff Gordon and ryan Newman somehow owe something to open-wheel racing simply because this is where they came from. Open-wheel racing didn't make Jeff Gordon famous, ESPN and Jeff Gordon, himself, made Jeff Gordon famous.[/QUOTE I agree with you on Gordon, Newman, and the the PPV deal! |

So a person's past that gives them skills to perform at a higher level mean nothing and don't deserve some kind of payback? That sounds a little egotistical to me. |

Gordon and Newman have shown no thanks to USAC for helping them with their careers now have they shown any interest in helping out other drivers coming up from USAC. What is Kenyon hadn't helped Gordon at IRP or half a dozen other tracks Mel helped him at? The egotistical comment wasn't directed at Gordon or Newman but squarely at the poster who think a persons past means nothing to their future. |
Re: Racinboys Webcast
Are we getting just a little OT here? The racinboys.com webcast worked great for me last night.

Read updates with Midgy! On RedlineRacing chat:idea: Then you have Nascar deal also!:angry-smiley-007: The reason for Redline chat is that it is not history! It is gone after the the last one signs off!:redflag: Joe |
