"who cares???????? "
The racers who hope to return next year to race again should care if a promoter makes money. |
Re: Pir last night
[QUOTE=USAC Fan;145208]We know, Duke. You remind us every day: Woo sucks, no one cares about USAC, nascars boring. Let's just pack it in and race with our matchbox cars on the carpet like when we were kids.
Can we report a member for PM harassment?[/QUOTE ITS NOT MY FAULT! I TOLD USAC FOR YEARS WHEN THEY WHERE WRONG! LIKE TAKING THE DIRT CARS OUT OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP TRAIL AND STOPING THE REAR ENGINE SPRINT CARS! A PLACE WHERE GUYS COULD READY THEMSELFS FOR INDY! WINGED SPRINTS GOING TO 410 CI ENGINES TRYING TO FOLLOW TED JOHNSON AND LETTING THE COST OF OPEN WHEEL RACING GET SO FAR OUT OF HAND! ONE THING IS FOR SURE WHEN IT COMES TO USAC THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THERE HISTORY! AND I THINK YOUR STILL PLAYING WITH YOUR MATCHBOX CARS CAUSE YOU LOST YOUR MARBELS!:26::15::14: |
Re: Pir last night
Educate me.
A team traveling from Indy to race in Phoenix. What would it cost the team to make the trip and race, and what exactly are they racing for? What does it pay? I am trying to figure out how anybody makes the trip and doesn't lose? 20-25 car fields can't pay that much, or can it??? Seriously. |

Duke is right, USAC does suck. 40 years ago they were the most powerful organization in motorsports. One boneheaded move after another and now nobody outside the state of Indiana knows or cares who they are.

Re: Pir last night
watched the truck race tonight(Friday) and the stands looked like a bomb had went off, was deserted on the main straight.....I know from having went to bristol for the night race with my dad and some friends it's just too damn expensive to go to a NASCAR race anymore, we went in a friends motorhome, stayed about 1/2 mile from the track and my share (me and dad) with tickets (which were $350 which was less than the person I bought them from paid) was $650 and that doesn't count what we spent at the track as far as t-sirts and stuff, we did carry in coolers which saved a bunch but basically you're looking huge bucks for little bang and people are not paying it anymore AND they're not staying home watching either PLUS sponsors are drying up because unless you're a huge company who has the money and it all trickles down thru the ranks....

Does anyone really, truly know what the payout was for this event? If so let me hear it, it seems no one wants to make it public, and if they did, I missed it.

WHAT A SHAME !!!! There were two good races for the fans to see out west and a great way to promote USAC and there drivers and no one knew the race was happing !!! This is not the first time that USAC has ran there in November, you would think after 15 years of going there that someone at USAC would know someone at the local paper or the local Tv to get the story out. Now that you had a great race and you have it on tape what are you going to do with it (place it on the shelf) get that thing out to other race tracks and promoters to show what kind of package you have to sell. ITs called marketing 101 !!!!

Re: Pir last night
Thanks quicktime and honest sam for answering my question with some good information. USAC fan, if you are trying to promote USAC as your name says, then maybe you should just give the information being sought, instead of having a screen attitude!

Re: Pir last night
I am constantly amazed at the shortsightedness, negative comments, etc. by so-called supporters of racing. So a person asks a question, instead of getting thoughtful, reasoned answers it quickly becomes a pissin' contest about who can come up with the most moronic, ill-conceived, sarcastic retort. Truly depressing. Yes, the internet has surely given us all a deserved open forum, but in some cases it has not improved our ability to reason and problem solve.
This topic could have been one that had the potential as a springboard to ideas about how to fix a problem, instead it becomes just another place for ranting rather than evaluating the situation objectively. Yet, we wonder why we are now a niche in the sport of auto racing that continues to sometimes be its own worst enemy! |
