Dont worry OSU fans. Just read on the BALCO website that they just got a shipment from barry bonds so they will play better the second half.:emote20:

This game is a joke without the best team in the nation in it: the University of Southern California

It has been broken for awhile

Just look at how much $$$$$ March madness bring in should be enough convensing to go to a playoff.......

Make the playoffs at the sites of the current bowl games that way the towns do not miss out on the extra income

How'd that Illinois's game go?

You know Illinois; the team SC dominated in the Rose Bowl?

Then there was also the Oregon loss that they like to forget about

Two 2 loss teams playing each other for a national championship is joke when there are a handfull of 1 loss teams

I think this is always an endless debate until they get a playoff then everyone will know for sure who the best is

Looks like yet another year and another loss for the Buckeyes the Big Ten has to be one of the weakest conference in NCAA football!

You mean the #5 team in the nation, at the time? And Illinois was ranked?

Illinois was ranked?

Oh, they weren't. :rolling:

Neither was Stanford, NJD.
So USC won their home bowl game. Congrats. Come back and play again next year...

If you don't win your games, don't complain.

Did Boeckman play the second half with a broken hand and only lose by a point like Booty did?

OSU couldn't even score in the second half against Illinois:rolling:

The only worthwhile national championship game would have been SC v. LSU. Georgia is good but they beat Hawaii for christ's sakes.. I could put together 22 people from this board and beat Hawaii.

Re: BCS National Championship Game

Because you're obviously a USC fan.
Injuries happen. Unfortunately, your team wasn't good enough to overcome one to beat a lowly Stanford team, in your own house.
Good luck next year, dog.

It is a home and home series so USC comes to the 'Shoe in 2009

I hope the writers strike gets settled. Even the BCS Championship game was a rerun, at least from the OSU perspective.

I got smart and called it a night at the half.

Sorry, can't resist a college football thread.

-USC may be the best team in the nation right now, however, under the current system they do not deserve any share of the championship.

Don't lose at home to Stanford.

-Ohio State was again unmasked as being no match for an SEC team. However, this ain't like it's OSU's first trip around the block. They'll be back.

With Rodriguez going to Michigan, perhaps the Big 10 will learn how to defend faster offenses.

-LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini is back at my school (Nebraska), and we're very excited to have him.

Playing devil's advocate, I think you could make a better argument for Kansas to win the National Championship than USC. At least KU only has one loss.

As it is, why cry about it? It won't change a thing.

Re: BCS National Championship Game

its OH - NO now haha!

Ohio State didn't beat a team ranked in the top 20 all year, there cupcake schedule and not playing the final week silver spoon fed them the #1 ranking. I'm sick of hearing of Ohio State blah blah they for the 2nd year in a row got waxed by a much better team! But they still managed #5 in the final rundown ahead of Kansas just can't understand.

We need a 32 team playoff! :thumb:

Being an SC fan made OSU not score against Illinois for an entire half of football? Being an SC fan broke Booty's hand? The only thing worse than a homer is a crying homer who has to reach to take shots at better teams.

Do you read what you write to ensure coherency?

But then the players would be forced to try to study for final exams right in the middle of the playoffs. The meat grinder that is major college football already makes it hard enough for these kids to make any kind of meaningfull progress towards getting a degree. This sure wouldn't make it any easier for them.

And it would take a ton of meaning away from college football's regular season. Michigan's loss to App. State might not mean a hill of beans if we had a 32-team playoff.

Re: BCS National Championship Game

Even if there was a playoff system ohio state would still either not make it or would not win. They cannot win the big games with no speed. Michigan had the same problem with faster teams like oregon, appalachian state just to name two. At best the big ten is the forth or fifth best conference in the county.

:rolling::rolling::rolling:
You mean people football and basketball players get an education
By watching sportscenter you would never have guessed that
:rolling::rolling:

A 32 team play off is to much but an 8 team play off is feasable and they do it in other divisions

Now a days when i hear the words Bowl Game it makes me sick. Just cause there are so many. Whatever happend to just having the Rose bowl, Orange bowl, and Sugar bowl. With the Championship game rotatin between them. Honestly do we really need the Insite, outback, or Notagoingtowatchit Bowl. Then it would start to mean something again. Give the players really something to work for. Not just a pat on the back and say "Well we finished 5th in the big ten standings but we get to go to the motor chitty bowl." AHHHHHH. If there were 15 Chili Bowls a year would there be 250+ cars at each one. i dont think so. It would just be a indoor dirt track that had a local series. i know this wont change anything but is something to think about.

And that is why america is getting soft. The main reason why i race is cause when the dust settles there is only one person in victory lane. and the other thirty or fourty that show up know that. but you go back the next weekend and work you ass off to be that person sitting in victory lane. it is about winning proving that your the better man that night. if everyone got to take there picture with the trophy why go. just sit at home a get really good at photoshop.
