LPS Point Fund

I need Kenny Carmichael Sr, Kenny Carmichael Jr., Troy Link, Todd Kimmel, Russ Harper and Mike Fichesser to private message me with your phone number or email address about the situation with Lincoln Park Speedway's point fund. Thanks!

Re: LPS Point Fund

In the past and reconfirmed by Billy P. today, that the point fund money was recieved with the LPS Tax form and a points check included . This has been coming in the mail in Jan. the past few years.
With the change in management I'm sure there will be some confusion. Spiker is going to make some calls and he has said that he will try to make Monday nights show to address this.

Re: LPS Point Fund

As per my own conversation with Steve from Spiker's office on Thursday, I asked when we might be getting our money from the points fund. I was told "there is no points fund, and there is no intention of paying one out this year". I told him that will make several people very unhappy, and that you will probably be getting quite a few phone calls. After this conversation, there have been several people stating different things, including that there was a deal between Mr. Allison and Mr. Spiker that Mr. Allison would pay the points fund, while Mr. Spiker was to pay for the year end bonfire bash and trophy's.

Spiker promotions is responsible for day to day operations of LPS, and, if there is agreement between Mr. Allison and Mr. Spiker then that's fine. However, we as the racers, who supported LPS every single week, should not have to chase any points fund money due to us. I just want to know the truth, whether the points fund will be paid, and when. If the points fund money is going to be paid, then Spiker's front office management should be made aware of this, which would stop the speculation that the points fund wouldn't be paid out.

It has paid $1200 to win the last 2 years to Billy, that is a fact and the rest of the payout is like a regular night's race, and it was paid late in the year. I don't care what Justin Marvel got in whatever year that was. I am dealing with Spiker Promotions in 2009. When you buy, lease, and take over the day to day running of a company, as they have, you are responsible for the assets and liabilities of that company. I asked Spiker at the pit meeting when they introduced him as the new man in charge of LPS and I quote "there will be no changes this year and everything will remain the same for the rest of the year". The people in the top 10 at LPS are just plain old blue collar 40hrs a week working people and put their heart and soul into racing and deserve to be paid for supporting LPS all year. Spiker promotions used the points fund to his advantage having a double points race and adding a race to make sure people showed up, so he needs to pay us. If he has a deal with Allison that is between those 2 parties and I don't care, but the person who now is in charge of LPS needs to pay up. Thanks Steve Phillips, 2009 LPS champion car owner

Re: LPS Point Fund

Since no one else seems to want to just pick up the phone and call for answers about the points fund, here's what I found out when I did call.

Spiker and Allison are both responsible (as per the lease agreement) for the points fund. Allison will pay his portion, which is about 2/3 because that's how many races he ran, when the 1099's go out as always. Spikers portion, you'll need to contact him to see when he plans to pay what he owes the racers.

Re: LPS Point Fund

I guess it depends on who you talk to on any given day. You can see WE DID call Spiker's office (see posts above), and got different answers than others. It would be nice if Mr. Spiker and Mr. Allison would just post on here the REAL story from both, then all this speculation would go away. What a concept!

Re: LPS Point Fund

I understand your frustrations Grumpy Racer. What I posted was straight from Mr. Allison, and he wrote the lease agreement, so I guess the issue will be with Mr. Spiker.

So when my tire sponsor drops out next year, you won't mind if I charge all my tires to your credit card? Hey, you don't care what my deal is, but I still need someone to pay for my tires.

I can't believe people are throwing Spiker under the bus this quickly AND they're taking Allison's word over Spiker? LOL! What a crazy world this is

So how many years did you not get your point money, when there was an announced point fund Lloyd? I realize there was a year when no one got any point money, but none was promised.

Spikers office is the one that said there was no money. Allison said he will be paying his portion as per the lease agreement, If Joe doesn't pay his portion, it will be a violation of said lease agreement, as I am told.

Therefore USAcfan Spiker is getting thrown under the bus because people in his office are saying there is no point money, plain and simple.

I didn't get jack. I was at every race in 2003. I brought 10-20 people in the back gate every night and another 10-15 in the front gate. It took every dime I had to win that championship and for what... a stupid jacket? By the way how many cars showed up to the first 5 races in 2004? I think the average was about 12 - 15. Mom always said you should learn from your mistakes.
Calculate this.
20 Races
15 people @ $25 a pit pass per night
$7500 in pit pass money for 1 Team for the season. That doesn't include my family and friends on the front stretch and all the money we spent while we were there. To even read this post has me ready to blow a gasket. We ( RACERS) spend thousands of dollars to put on a show for our fans and the fact we LOOSE money if we don't run in the top 2 at LPS is crazy. But we do it because we love this sport. The least you could do is try to help us stay on the track. It cost an average of $600 a night for me to run LPS so to see that it paid $450 for 3rd. Its 2009 and we are racing for the same money my old man did when we came back here in 89.

Dear Promoter/Owner of LPS
I plan on running this track again next year but I will not support someone who cheats THE RACER. I hate the fact that DA has anything to do with LPS. It guys like this that drive good owners and sponsors away from this sport we love so much. I suggest someone at LPS pull there head out of there :21: and get these boys paid or you won't be seeing me there next year.:22: :7: :11: :26: :19: :15: :35:

Re: LPS Point Fund

What does the 2009 point fund have to do with your tires? And since you didn't sign your name, how are you associated with the sprint car points fund, or the points fund at all? I'm sure you aren't in the top 10 in points, since I've talked to all of them in sprints with the exception of the Carmichael's. It was Spiker's office who said there wasn't a points fund, not Dave Allison.

steve , Sorry to not get back to you been sick all week with flu. Havent talked to anyone about money but since DA had the track its payed the same as feature. Hell in 05 I even got two jackets won both sprints and stockcar points. that was last banquet also. Since then our money as came with our 1099s also as i remember we are never realy told at the beginning each year if there is any money for points. In all my years racing at lps we never got point untill bill hopton started. The farrars never did but always had a nice banquet, and awards , rookie of year , most inproved, hard luck in each class. Also gave jackets to anyone that raced there 100% so i guess we will just have to wait for our 1099s and see then we can have this thread agin LOL see you in the spring kenny
