My kids and I are going, maybe even my Husband! (This is more my thing than his.) We can't make it until Sat though. It's definitely an experience!

We hope to have a bunch of the MMSA cars there for the mini sprint races.

Undecided yet. Hoping for rain on Friday so we don't have to come down for one night just for hotlaps and heat races

Re: Lawrenceburg Funfest

Friday is Odd/Even Features not Heats. 75%-80% of the drivers in the Saturday Night Specials transfer from the Odd/Even Features. If you don't transfer from the Odd/Evens then you run a Heat on Saturday (and only the winner transfers). If you make it to the Saturday Night Special you are locked into the Feature on Sunday. If you are not in the Saturday Night Special you have to run a C or B Main Sunday to race your way into the Feature.

Thanks for clearing that up. For some reason thought the odd/even's were on Saturday night. Will there be a payoff for each night?

Is it worth making the trip down saturday morning? watching saturday and camping that night. Or would it not be worth going that late in the week.

I think they pay for the Saturday Night Specials, B Mains & Features. Call (812) 689-1046 for more info.

If you show up on Saturday morning you'll see the Mini Enduro, Enduro, Powder Puff races, Heat races, Race of Champions, & the Saturday Night Specials. On Sunday they start with the Rollover Contest at noon and they go right into the C Mains, B Mains & Features.

I think it would be worth the trip.

I'm confused.?
I need a lil help. Their website is as clear as mud to me on this.
All I want to see is open wheel sprint and or mini sprints.
So when will they be run?

Its pretty simple really, alot of racing and lots of food beer and everything under the sun. If you want to come just to see sprints run and not enjoy anything else, this event is not for you. The sprints race each night, and sunday day. Free entertainment and food each night. Its a racers party and a great time to just kick back and have fun, Funfest!! this event will happen rain or shine, if it rains we have plenty of stuff going on.
Thanks, Dave

calling for rain on friday, what will happen for the odd/even features if it does? Will they be ran on saturday?

Re: Lawrenceburg Funfest

I have what might be a dumb question...What are odd/even Features?

Sandy Lowe 10/7/09 7:24 PM

Re: Lawrenceburg Funfest

Odd/Even Features are features lined up by a pill draw. The lowest number pulled is on the pole of Odd/Even 1, second lowest number pulled is on the pole of Odd/Even 2, and so on.

Last year there were 22 sprints split up into 2 Odd/Even Features. The top 6 drivers transferred to the Saturday Night Special, everyone else to a Heat. The Heat was lined up by Odd/Even finish, with the top 2 transferring to the tail of the Saturday Night Special.

The Odd/Even transfers redraw for a starting spot in the Saturday Night Special. The way you finish the Saturday Night Special if how you line up for the Feature.

If you don't make the Saturday Night Special you run a B Main, lined up by Heat finish, to try to transfer to the tail of the Feature.

Hey Dave,

Can you give me a more definitive time for the racing action on Sunday? The website talks about a roll over contest starting at noon, but I am not interested in seeing Aero getting out of bed after an all night ding a ling drinking contest.:19::3::17:

Sandy Lowe 10/7/09 8:42 PM

Re: Lawrenceburg Funfest

IIRC we start with the rollover contest then head right into the mains. The classes stay in the same order all weekend. All of the C Mains, then B mains, the features.

Last years Sunday lineup looked like this:

C MAIN
1. PURE STOCK #1 10 laps Top 2 transfer
2. PURE STOCK #2 10 laps Top 2 transfer
3. MODIFIED #1 10 laps Top 2 transfer
4. MODIFIED #2 10 laps Top 2 transfer
5. BOMBER 8 laps Top 5 transfer
6. MINI STOCK 8 laps Top 5 transfer

B MAIN
7. LATE MODEL 12 laps Top 6 transfer
8. PURE STOCK 12 laps Top 4 transfer
9. MODIFIED 12 laps Top 5 transfer
10. BOMBER 10 laps Top 5 transfer
11. STREET STOCK 12 laps Top 5 transfer
12. MINI STOCK 10 laps Top 5 transfer

FEATURE
13. SPRINT 20 laps
14. CHEVETTE 15 laps
15. 1200cc WING MINI SPRINT 20 laps
16. LATE MODEL 20 laps
17. PURE STOCK 15 laps Ryan Craig Memorial
18. MODIFIED 20 laps Buddy Cook Memorial
19. BOMBER 15 laps
20. CRATE LATE MODEL 15 laps
21. 600cc WING MINI SPRINTS 15 laps
22. STREET STOCK 20 laps
23. CRUISER 10 laps
24. HORNETS 15 laps
25. MINI STOCK 15 laps
