Haud flip at the grove

Man, Haud just took a nasty flip at Williams Grove...........He is ok..............

Re: Haud flip at the grove

Glad he's OK.The way that car came up across the track and drove him into the wall. Then they had a shot of the car that hit Haud with the left rear torsion arm broken off where it attatched to the bar.

Re: Haud flip at the grove

Haud's car rolled over on the left side & started flipping, If he hit the wall it was'nt hard, The 1 flip that hit @ an angle was what did the damage to the frame, Layton pounded the wall after he hit Haud & I believe that was what caused his damage.

You must have seen a different crash. He hit the wall hard and flipped multiple times.

Does anyone know if that was the VKCC 13 that McMahan was driving last night?

Hockett was in the VKCC 13 without the wing at L'burg last night. Friday night he started in the VKCC 75 and finished the night in the 13. If that helps.

No Haud never did hit the wall.Ive got it dvr'd.The car just rolled over on the left side and started barrel rolling never touching the wall.I have no clue what the right turn clyde all the way across the track was about but I think Haud took it alot better than I would have.

Nice move by Chad Layton taking out the most exciting racer of the night. Now I know what they mean when they say Laytonized. I'm just glad he damaged his car and couldn't continue.

Re: Haud flip at the grove

Well ok.Maybe you MIGHT be right but from what I see rolling over on the left hand side had nothing to do with the fact that Layton drove his RR up over the top of Haud's LF and broke the stearing correct? The LF folded under.

Re: Haud flip at the grove

Doty even commented on the broadcast as to how the car rolled over onto the left side when he first thought it had hit off the wall.

They also explained that the 13 that McMahan was in was a Buch 13 with help from Bernie at Indy Race Parts who owned the 71 that Paul drove at Knoxville.

Re: Haud flip at the grove

a lot of equipment tra$hed chasing a $50k check. How much of that carnage would have been averted had that been a USAC vs Posse race (if the Posse raced wingless regularly) ? Hope we Posse race watchers eventually get a chance to see how nonwing 410's get around "the Clip."
...asked the same question on the Grove board (no response - surprise).

USAC was there in 1996 and SCRA in 2002. Where were you?

Wingless 410's :27: that what's needed in PA. Buckwalter would be the man. I'm hoping USAC comes east again next year, maybe run lincoln or Susky.

At those times - out of the region or the country, unfortunately.
How'd they get around the Grove, compared to the winged 410's

Standing in the infield down by turn three. They were backing 'em in. Kerr and Pauch had'em covered, but Rahmer was coming fast. Too bad Fred doesn't take the wing off anymore. Those old modfied guys are tough.
