Silver Crown Series
After reading many posts about the USAC Silver Crown meeting held earlier this week, I thought I might chime in to clear any misunderstandings.
1. The focus of the meeting was with the "new" car owners. As Jason and I were only 1 week on the job, please forgive us if you were overlooked as a car owner. We have a sense of urgency to address the hot issues, Silver Crown being one of many. Any car owner not attending may feel free to email me directly (kevin@usacracing.com) for a complete update. 2. The goal of the meeting was for us to get up to speed with owners on the direction of the new car. As I have followed many chat forums over the past few months, there are some very opinionated comments on the new car from owners and fans (yes, they are ugly), old pavement cars, and the dirt cars versus new cars. 3. The meeting was very productive in establishing a vision which will be solidified at a meeting date in mid January (tentative, January 18th). After agreement, this new vision will be announced prior to the first race in February. I hope you will find myself and the team at USAC to be open and honest with our plan and vision for all series. We are hard at work reviewing direction for Silver Crown and Ford Focus series, 2 areas we feel need our immediate attention. The other key area that is being addressed with a sense of urgency is marketing. I think you will find a fresher, edgier USAC as we roll out our game face this year. Stay Tuned. Kevin |
Re: Silver Crown Series
Thank you for coming on IOW and posting, Kevin. That is exactly what we need here - more facts and less rumors.:thumb:

Re: Silver Crown Series
I think one of the facts we clearly all understand is they never should have messed with the SC cars to begin with... but I guess it it isn't broke.... break it... then look at the pieces:doh: I hope to see it back to what it once was.... I loved those big a$$ machines around Terre Haute and LOVE them at Eldora:crying:
I hope all went well with the meeting and it all pans out. Thanks for the info and welcome to the board! |
Re: Silver Crown Series
Welcome to the board Kevin. Glad that you took the time to respond. :applaud::thumb:

Re: Silver Crown Series
Is it still possible to back out of any deal with NASCAR since they are obviously no help when they shorten events and put the races on when nobody is in attendance

Re: Silver Crown Series
Thank you Kevin Miller for taking the time to post on the message board here. I hope you and Jason can turn the club around and return it to the greatness is was in the 70's. I know it will be an uphill battle and I pledge myself and my family's help in getting there.
Best of Luck in 2008! :thumb::usac: |

Re: Silver Crown Series
Thank you for taking a new style to USAC. The old guard seemed to think that they were "gods" because they won "The Hut" or Indy.
Would sure like to hear that "The Careys" were returning! Bill and his son seemed to be the only USACers that seemed to care about the competitors. There retun would be a welcome site to the ortganization! |

Pretty cool that Kevin is paying attention here. Thanks Kevin. Good Luck to Kevin and Jason. As a sprint car owner I would like to thank Greg Stabb for hanging in there during the ugly times. Lets all go forward together and please don't forget the members who have been thru thick and thin. They are really the core of USAC. Thanks again!

Re: Silver Crown Series
I too applaud Kevin for coming on here and setting the record straight. You can agree or disagree with the man's opinion and vision.
At least it is being articulated in a public forum by a person willing to sign his name. Rob Hoffman |
Re: Silver Crown Series
Glad to see that he is on here checking things out on IOW and seems to be interested in the fans view of things.Has always it is great to see both Rob and Lynn on here with there views would like to see some more owners input and thoughts on things plus some drivers to as nothing can be fixed unless they are talked about.

Re: Silver Crown Series
With the new administration now in the USAC office, mabe Bill could get the "USAC Fans.com" web name back.

Re: Silver Crown Series
WOW This has been an interesting thread....... The new USAC front man stops by and puts himself in the frying pan of a public forum and we only get 17 light duty comments.
From this lack of discussion, I must assume that everyone is totally satisfied with the USAC situation.... or that everyone is totally fed up with USAC and really doesn't care anymore. Which is it???????? |

I would have to agree, we need Bill Carey & William Carey back...and more like them. I would also like to the see the "traditional" silver crown cars back in action on dirt and pavement under the USAC banner. Welcome to the heart of racing Kevin...and welcome back Jason, we missed you. Joe Chambers Official Push Trucks |

Re: Silver Crown Series
Yes Gregg Stabb has alot of great ideas I would like to see him working with the Silver Crown division more.Just look at all of the positive things he has done with the divisions he has been working with.He is just one of those get it done type of people. With him ,Jason, and Kevin all working together this division would be a slam dunk.I wonder If this could really happen.:)
