August 22, Sprint Bandits vs. USAC at Lawrenceburg

Does anybody know what drivers are planning to attend Lawrenceburg on saturday night. I saw on another thread that Dave Darland was headed out to Nebraska, is he coming back for the USAC race? It was also mentioned that Bryan Clauson was planning on running the Sprint Bandit tour driving for Jeff Walker. Just wondering what USAC drivers are gonna be down at The Burg, since it usually puts on a good show.

I was told that Dave Darland, Jerry Coons Jr., Tracy Hines, and Levi Jones are coming on a bird from Springfield. Also Brad Sweet and Damion Gardner. I am sure there are many others that i can't confirm yet, Maybe some can get on here and let us know they are coming. I know all the regulars will be there, like Moffatt, Weber, Short, Etc. ect....
Going to be fun!!!

Does anybody know if Dickie Gaines will have a ride for this race? Also, i noticed that Robert Ballou is on the TNT tour, along with Josh Wise, and since some of the guys that were mentioned that they were coming back for Lawrenceburg, i was wondering if those guys(Ballou & Wise) would be coming as well.

If I was a betting man I would say Ballou will run the TnT race.He has won it the last two years in a row and wants a third peddle car:8:

Dickie was running the Hurst Brothers #9 a week and a half ago. I'm looking for a return of that combination, but I could be wrong.

You would be the big winner with your bet. Robert is running the full TNT schedule. He wants a 3-peat and was disappointed he couldn't be at the burg and would definitely be there if either one had just shifted in scheduling one week or the other....and he does want that 3rd car.

Darland, Ballou, Gardner, Hockett, Clausen, Wise, Bacon, Gulick, Levi all out on the TNT deal.... We will see who doesnt stay out on the tour... With a nice point fund for the week of the TNT tour it maybe be tough for them to just leave to go to the Burg for a non points race...

Jerry Coons Jr. will be at the wheel of the #69 at the Burg Saturday night. We are looking for a little redemption after our Lawrenceburg Sprintweek mishap and think we have put our dirt program back on track after our recent test at Wanesfield.

Wishing Dave and the crew all the best for Saturday night!!

Sorry to see that half of the top ten in USAC points, might not be at the Burg. Can't believe Dave Rudisell is real happy about this non-points deal?? Even a USAC homer like me is having trouble putting a good spin on this,:2: Seems like you would wanna give points to those who support you and take away from them that don't??;)

Dave found a way to give USAC a EVENT, Now the trick is finding a date that doesn't conflict. The format is there. THe $$ is there and I pretty much guarantee you there will be 25 quality sprinters starting the show.

In respect to its teams USAC and Dave agreed to making it non points for this year.
Daves hinting at some big paying races for next year? Could this be one of them??????

At least ten sprint car races, That to me is worth the price of admission. Expecially when many are running three or four sprint races a night.

See you there! Or not! :)

Where did I say I wouldn't be there?I support USAC , Lawrenceburg and ALL other tracks they run. Everything you said could be accomplished without any sanction for this one race. As much as I like USAC and the Burg,I don't see how sanctioning this as a "Special Event" helps either?

Doesn't anyone find any irony in the fact that USAC is having a 10 grand to win race against the TnT DEAL and USEING THEIR FORMAT:5:

See ya at the BURG:32:

Since this is a non points race is there still an age rule? We would love to come and run the Dick Gaines Classic.

Thanks for the reply Dave. I am glad that you have stepped up to the plate to make this a big event. Dick Gaines is one of the biggest legends of our sport and he deserves this type of event. Also great move on the format best system going.:6:

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Wouldn't it be nice if all of the cars could be in the same place at one time, then next week do it again at the other track! Wait, that would require a National series....

Wishing EVERYONE safe and competitive racing wherever they choose to compete.

Dave, what is the purse structure for this race?

Re: August 22, Sprint Bandits vs. USAC at Lawrenceburg

I would think that all of the drivers running the SC race at Springfield and have a car to run will be at the Burg as Usac is flying them over. Springfield to the burg 304 miles, Springfield to Lakeside 384 miles. So unless someone has a plane to fly some to Lakeside, I dunno. :23::22:

Yep, That is USAC being the TREND SETTER in non wing racing that Spridge wrote about on another thread.
I agree, It is the format I like.
