It is loud there, but I think we have a lineup:

16p Puterbaugh 11d Grant
10e Cottle 17f Faas
29w Whitt 10f Fitzpatrick
1x Gross 9x Thomas, Jr.
14 Guilick 11s Schuenberg

68 Hendrick 36 Short
7 Carter 66s Spencer
38 Parker 54 Schafer?
1G Gross (old guy in super modified or old roadster, that stays out of the way)

Yellow. 3 to go.

Justin Grant was putting on a show before bringing out the yellow and going to the back.

Order: Whitt, Hunter, Guilick, Cottle.

Your welcome. That's always been one of the great things about IOW. When you can't be there, somebody's always got you covered. I just try to repay what so many others have done for me.

6th or 7th, they think? There were a lot of lapped cars that made things kind of confusing, is what I'm told.

That race was simply awesome! If you wasn't able to make it out to see it in person, spend $15 and buy the dvd from Mills. Kokomo speedway is the best race track anywhere. Bar none!

Stanbrough was not there, and you must not have been either. I have been going to races all my life and no place compares to Kokomo week in and week out!

I know stanbrough wasnt there thus came my question :14: and ya ive to kokomo twice this year cuz its a 4 hour drive 4 me.. I went to the kiss race which had no passing pole sitter won and went to usac isw show which chad boat led the whole race but it did have some passing behind that.. but nothing compares to BC and LEVI and Boat running nose to tail at TSS and brady, BC, and Fitz running so close togeher for half the race.. U must not have been to TSS this year and does any1 have any USEFUL info on wats up wit the 53 foxco ride?? please and thank you

I am sorry for the answer to your question, but it was pretty vague. I will try to read your mind the next time. Also I am sorry that you don't live closer to the best track in the country.

Wow cmon folks. No need to argue about this I have been to both and both are great venues. I myself prefer haubstadt but everyone has opinions and theres no reason to heckell over this. Just go enjoy sprint car races wherever you please cant go wrong with either place!!

Coleman Gulick is simply amazing.:9: With a red flag at three laps to go he is a sitting duck in third place with a flat left rear tire. Instead of going to the pits to change the tire he stays out and somehow gasses it up to finish second to Cole Whitt. Another great show for the fans and another early evening getting home.:6: The staff at Kokomo deserves a great big thank you for bring this track to life.:8: A good crowd on hand and the track crew didn't even work the track at intermission. Too bad that this is the second last Sunday night of the season.:13: Just a reminder to everyone that next week is a SATURDAY night show and then Kokomo is off both 8/16 & 8/30.

Agreed. There are only two tracks that you are 100% guaranteed, every single time you walk through the gates, to see a great race. Haubstadt and Kokomo. Many of the others are great tracks, but these two stand above the rest. I've left both, numerous times, thinking I just saw one of the best races I'd ever seen.

How about Hunter and Grant above the cushion inches from the wall going into turn one, then almost getting together twice before Grant spun? Watching the leaders racing through the lapped traffic, sometimes 4 wide, that race was the best I have seen in a long long time!

Re: kokomo updates???

Rube you might be right, none of us remembered BP Jr getting lapped but we couldnt figure out how he got that far back up to the front. Some of the best racing of the night was when Grant, Whitt and Hunter came up on about 5 lapped cars running high low and all over the place, watching them make their way through them was worth the price of admission(which was 1/2 price for HARF members). Bad luck for Grant who jumped the koosh in 2 got sideways and shot down into the infield where he did about a minutes worth of doughnuts trying to continue, he was successful but by that time they had already thrown the yellow and he went to the back anyway. Gulick was awsome again tonight, started inside of row 5 and was just behind the leaders most of the race. Like mud packer said he showed what he's got by gassing it up on the high side with a flat left rear to nip Hunter at the line for 2nd. Just another of many great nights Sunday nights of racing at Kokomo.

FINAL:

1) Whitt
2) Gulick
3) Hunter%
4) Fitz
5) Short
6) Elson
7) Carter
8) Faas
9) K. Gross
10) Grant
11) Ott
12) Welpott

14) Hendrick
15) Fredrickson
16) Schafer
17) Spencer
18) Throttle
19) Parker
20) KT Jr.
21) D. Gross

A few thoughts.... Anybody who was paying attention could have told you BP was lapped. Cole Whitt runs the bottom at new Kokomo better than anyone, and it's refreshing to see a kid who has no qualms about playing huggy pole. It was great to see Schuerenberg back in the 11. Watching him run the fence was a 2008 flashback, it's too bad he had the flat RF because he would have had something for Whitt. Gulick continues to impress and improve, even with a flat LR. Justin Grant was pretty much scary in the A tonight, but man was he fun to watch. His fast lap of the feature? 13.436. Laps 14-18, with Grant, Schuerenberg and Whitt slicing and dicing through traffic and banging wheels was as good as racing of any kind gets. Lastly, anyone who honestly -- honestly -- thinks that Kokomo's racing product ranks behind any race track is either blind, an unapologetic homer or somehow caught Kokomo on a bad night, even though Kokomo's "bad nights" are better than most places' good nights. I've never seen a race track that generates racing like this one does. Even the thunder car races are barn-burners most of the time.

HARFprez 8/3/09 1:12 AM

Re: kokomo updates???

HARF HUNDRED's finished like this:
Jonathan Hendrick: 9th @ GC + 2nd @ L'burg + 14th @ Kokomo = 25 points = $1000.
Andrew Elson: 19th @ GC + 3rd @ L'burg + 6th @ Kokomo = 28 points = $200.
-so, after 3 tough nights of racing at 3 different tracks, Jonathan Hendrick wins our $1000. by just "3" points, damn good racing to all involved. and we could not have dealt with any finer gentlemen than Jonathan and Andrew (and his father Bill). Special Thanks to all the folks at all 3 race tracks for all they did to help us with this promotion. We hope we get to do it again next year, but until then, check our website for upcoming discount nights at other local race tracks (www.harfonline.org), see you at the races, bob:22:

I am not going to swear to it but I think we ran second after leading all but a couple laps in our heat, not bad for running with a broken right front shock. I will have to look at the video to make sure but I think that is what happened. I guess it really does not matter.

I guess with school starting, the speedway decided to run on Saturday night. This week is fan appreciation night with admission 1/2 price. I know from previous years that crowd and car count has dwindled and I suppose it has to do with the school bell ringing.
