Looks like the $3,000 to win MSCS race scheduled for September 12th got canned and is replaced by a non-sanctioned $2,000 to win show.

I was wondering the same thing this evening, so I decided to send Mr. Spiker an email. I seriously doubt that he replies back. But you would think that being a promotor and something changes w/your schedule that has to do with a santioning body you would have the courtesy to let them know!!! :15:

It doesn't make sense to just cancell it now...There had to be a good reason..

Wasn't a Racin Fest w/DO scheduled their also? A couple of people that work @ VCS visit this board, maybe they can fill us in?

On the VCS web site it says the August 1st program has been canceled. Not to sound like an idiot but can anyone confirm that?? Coleman is running his Silver Crown Car on Friday night at Iowa and we were going to load the 410 in the Trailer and stop at VCS on the way back through on Saturday, August 1. However, it appears now that it is cancelled. Any confirmation would be appreciated. Thanks!!

:23:From my understanding, and this is just conjecture, Lincoln Park Speedway has the Putnamville Clash scheduled for August 1st, and also Tri-State(Haubstadt) has a big sprint race that night as well? Does that jive to everyone else?:22:

:23:Well I can tell you this...I'm merely a fan. I help VCS from an outside standpoint as it is the track that I've grown up with for nearly 30 years now. I have no direct contact with Joe Spiker, so only he knows why he took Aug. 1 off from VCS, and again with the previous topics as well. :22:

According to the website and what I was told, there will be no racing at VCS on August 1st.....Would love to see him at LPS for the Clash though!!!!

So now that everyone knows that VCS isn't running and LPS is on August 1st...how about some insight on the September 12th race!!?? I don't understand why VCS would post on their schedule that its no longer an MSCS race but a non-sanctioned $2,000 to win show!!! As I stated in my post earlier, I have sent an email to Spiker and I highly doubt I get a response, but he NEEDS to have the curtousy to contact the MSCS officials and let them know..and IMO i think its dirty on his part if he doesn't!!!

John, I am sure your just jokin around w/Jason, but I know that Jason makes every effort to make a great schedule for the MSCS drivers and fans and he goes above and beyond to make these races happen!

Well, I guess we will have to see what time we are in Indiana after the Silver Crown Race at Iowa Speedway. Of course, we have to stay for the Kelli Pickler Concert after the show... :14:

We hope to run somewhere Saturday and then Kokomo Sunday. Then, off to our Home Track of Oswego Speedway in New York for the USAC Silver Crown Race on Thursday night.

We'll be there if we can make it.. Thanks!

Jason is more than a good friend to me...He knows what I meant and how I meant it..This is just another promoter mystery...I would say D'ville has been put on the back burner and all effort has been transfered to pull P'ville out of the crapper...

This a pretty informative first post.. Do you work at the track?? Why would you be upset??? I was just informed by an MSCS insider and they said they have not been notified by VCS of "ANY" cancellation of this show.They are reading about a cancellation for the first time on this site.I figured what the heck I'll just make a call and find out and thats what I was told..John Gurley:6:

Good thing you posted this before any series promotors got their panties in a wad and posted something they didnt THINK THROUGH about tracks they may want to do business with in the future. ;) Be sure and tell Mr. Spiker thanks for all he is doing. :32:
