Updates from Kokomo sure would be appreciated!! Hopefully there is someone who can give those of us that live in other states or can't be there an update or two.

Thanks.

From Hoover, as read from Monica's score sheet:

21 Cars
Timing system down. No quals.

Heat 1

54 Shafer 66 Spencer
21X Shuman 57 Messeraul
29w Whitt 14 Guilick
7c Carter 27kb Bloom

Finish

57, 29w, 66, 14, 7c, 21x, 27kb, 54

21x of Shuman is the Barnhill car, not the Roberts one.

Heat 2
38B Bowen 30 Boat
16p Puterbaugh 9k Thomas, Jr.
58 Fredrickson 68 Hendrick
53 Stanbrough

Finish

30, 9k, 16p, 53, 68, 39b, 58

They think the 38B of Bowen is a wing guy, stopping to run on his way home.

Heat 3

10e Cottle 11d Justin Grant
27a Elson 11 Clauson
76 Hughes 16d Donaldson
9 Harper (scratch)

Finish

11d, 10e, 27, 76, 11, 16d

The 11d and 11 cars are Walker cars. There is some question as to who is in which one.

Feature lineup should be:

57 30
11d 29w
9K 10e
66 16p
27 14
53 76
7c 68
11 21x
39b 16d
27kb 58
54

:41::Yellow on lap 6 for 16p, 38 and 27.

Top 5

30 Boat, 57 Messeraul, 29w Whitt, 11 Clauson, 10e Cottle

Cole Whitt Wins!!

Finish

29w, 30, 10e, 53, 7c, 21x, 66, 57, 68

Bowden is a wing 360 driver from Mississippi who said about 2 years ago he was coming to Indiana to race non-wing sprints!! At one time he had a Foxco 360 motor in his wing car.

You should be proud. Your grandson has shown, especially over the last month or so, that this apple didn't fall very far from the tree.

Boat ran out of fuel after a lengthy caution for T-Mez to change a tire. I like T-Mez but I don't understand why the officials waited so many laps for him. I have never seen them do it for anyone else this year.

I think it had to do with Paul Hazen supporting kokomo for 52 year although T-Mez was fun to watch!!!

Re: Kokomo Updates Tonight

Yeah, the extended caution made me scratch my head also. But if anyone deserves a break like that it's Mr.Hazen and they did the same thing for a car in one of the support classes. (must have been feeling generous tonight.) I would also like to add, that while Josh's finishing position was impressive, the race he ran was even more impressive. At one point he was the second fastest car on the track, and moving towards finishing as such. But, a tangle kind of set him back. He kept his cool and brought the car home in one piece with a good finish. Congrats.

Yes he was. I'am also glad to see Witt back in Victory Lane. Does this mean they are going to wait on everybody now to change a tire? And if not how are they going to explain it to the next guy that gets a flat? I am not trying to take anything away from Witt or T-Mez, I love to watch both of them race, but if you wait on one guy then you have to wait on all of them, and that could lead to some long cautions.

It was a judgement call from upstairs. With the car count being a little on the low side we gave all the cars involved in accidents enough time to get repaired and get out. It was unfortunate that BP and others got tore up at the beginning of the feature. We just wanted to keep cars out there to put on a good show for you all..

I enjoy working at Kokomo and I think this year is right up there with the past few years as far as action and excitement. I feel like this track gives the fans there moneys worth. However, I think the best racing all night was the kids on the bicycles. I never seen so many kids trying to so hard to get the :22:

Good job to all the kids who participated!!!

See you all next weekend.

Boat didn't run anymore caution laps then the rest of the field! Let's not take away credit for Whitt's win. It was another great race and they both did a heck of a job.:8:

Thanks to Kokomo Speedway for another great night of racing. :6:
