Chili Bowl on HBO commercial

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
This is going to be great, since I can't make it this year !!
|
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
This is cool it will be covered, but it's too bad they are only doing 1 day. Wish Race Network was covering it, they would probably have covered each day start to finish - plus I don't have HBO, but I do have an Internet connection.

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
I don't believe you need to be a HBO subscriber. Just like the Prelude to the dream was earlier this year. You can just but the pay per view if you have a digital or HD box.

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
this is great. i can watch the race on t.v. and chat about it on redline racing chat. sweet!! :greenflag::applaud::thumb::respect::Steer

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
Thank you to the people that make this possible, it's about time.

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
This is great that a midget race is going to be on HBO. On the other hand, don't look for the promoters to add anything to the already worst paying purse in the history of auto racing based on the income and size of the event. Promoters win again and racers lose.

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
DM-10 Will you be taking one car only to the Chilli Bowl, and who will your driver be?
|
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
The only thing I'll be taking to the Silly Bowl is a plane and enjoying watching all the teams walking out of there on Saturday after they've had their pockets pick by the promoters. hahahahaha
Look for us at Fort Wayne and DuQuoin. |
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
DonMoore10 I cannot believe you are not going to take me up on my offer to buy you a RR when I saw your car in the pits at the "silly bowl".
|
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
hahahahahaha Call Lanny Hahn and Emmett Edwards and tell them I want those 5 star hotel rooms, a special parking place in the Silly Bowl building plus a private jet on call 24/7. Hey... the Stewart team can sleep at Motel 6 for once, for cryin' out loud. And how 'bout waving my little trailer around all those big NASCRAP type haulers that always take two hours to park.

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
If you go to a midget race to make money or pay the bills for racing
your car you have already lost. And trust me you won't have any fun. If you go to the Chillibowl to have fun and I think about 99% of the contestants and owners do they have already won before they even think about the biggest midget spectacle in racing history. The only loosers are those who wish to bad mouth and redicule the only race that brings all contestants and classes of people under one roof. This is the house that "Lanny built" and you are all welcome to come and participate and race if you like. Lanny will take your money and try to provide you with the best racing entertainment money can buy. Lots of love, Don Moore 10. Larry "O":applaud: |

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
About to make my first trip this year, anyone ever sit between 3 &4? Got tickets in EE and wondering how they are, they are also pretty high, 33 rows up, too far from the action?? Also, what is the beer situation, doubt you can bring it in right?

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
I emailed Dish Network about this and they knew nothing about this event being on PPV. I hope it is simply because they aren't race fans in their customer service department and it will be available to DIsh customers.
Don, who's driving for you in Ft. Wayne? I'll see you there. |

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
I gotta say something here on the Lanny bashing.
How many other tracks are built for entirely one purpose? Take away from any other buisness that they may conduct there? Im sure he could have some rock concerts or something in that place he could make more $$ from in that months time to build and remove it. Would you rather it not happen? I for one am EXTREMELY glad for a break in the dullness that is winter time motorsports with real cars on real dirt doing real slidejobs instead of huggy pole concrete indoor racing that lets face it. is more exciting with go karts than midgets or sprints. I hope another couple facilities could put together a dirt indoor track for Jan-Feb racing and even a sprint race or two. Im begining to think if 20th place at any race paid 10 grand there'd still be complainers. Is it expensive? YES, Do you make a return on your investment? NEVER. Is it fun and competitive? If not, don't go. Stepping off my box and again stating it's not my money but it seems more than worth it to about 200, more than any other event held for one class including bellville |
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
BTW, I did wet my panties the first time I heard how little the promoters pay.:crying:

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
It's pretty easy to pick on ol' Don here, because he clearly states his opinion on the Chili Bowl. But I'm thinkin' he's probably one of the only owners in the Midget business to come close to making money/breaking even this season.
Hell, I was hoping he'd run the Bowl....I like his dogs...:rolling: |

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
Seven wins and a couple of seconds and thirds in the last 15 months on a very, very limited schedule. Thanks to all my incredibly talented drivers, especially to the one and only Jerry Coons Jr. (six wins) who is, by far, one of the best and greatest midget drivers in the history of auto racing. He needs to be in the Hall of Fame now for sure. Also thanks go to my mechanic, Bill Klein, North Olmsted, Ohio, and his impeccable work in overseeing and engineering the necessary changes to the Sesco Mopar/Stealth that help keep it upfront with only one mechanical failure in the last year. Thanks also to Scott and Bill Baue of Leaders Edge in Indianapolis for their advice, direction and service. I highly recommend them for all your racing needs. Also to Ron Hoettels of SESCO engines who builds one of the most under rated power plants in midget racing. It was a great year!
Moore Racing Enterprises LLC Don Moore Stealth/Sesco Mopar #10 Beast/Gaerte Ford #10 Spike/Brayton/Gaerte Ford #10 NOTE: The Brayton/Gaerte Ford engine is the holder of the world's fastest lap (PPIR) ever turned in a midget. |
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
I never picked on ol Don. If you have good enough reasons not to warrent running the race. Thats fine by me.
What I don't get is all the complaining over it. It's the only game in town unless your off to the outback. Wonder what that cost? :) |

Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
Plenty of midget racing this winter indoors. Fort Wayne Dec.28-29 and DuQuoin State Fair Southern Illinois Center on the dirt. Legal midget racing (no 700 lb baby buggy type cars with illegal engines allowed) sanctioned by POWRi, a great org, on Jan. 19, Feb. 16 and March 29th. All these races pay better than the Silly Bowl.
|
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
Don, I hope you choose to come out here to Phoenix for the Copper on Dirt instead of the Feb 16th race you mentioned.
I totally agree about your view of Jerry Coons. I was at the Western World earlier this month, and watching the video replays on Dean Mills' site didn't even come close to showing Jerry's talents and abilities. |
Re: Chili Bowl on HBO
Words can't describe how good Jerry Coons Jr. is. He knows how to win by making great split second decisions when he is racing. :checkered:

Every racer has to make split second decisions. It's part of the game. The ones that win make smart ones :) No argument from me on the Coondog's abilities! Chuck, saying he's not bad with a wrench either and knowing how he likes the car to his style. |
