Sounds about right. Moffatt landed on top of Holt's car ending his night.... scored like 17th or thereabouts.

Any more report on this race?
I'm interested in Keith Bloom, Jr. coming out to Indiana to race on an extreme shoestring and having a good run at Putnamville...

STIDA.com 6/28/09 11:09 AM

Re: Lps

Bloom started on the pole with Christian on the outside..... Kent jumped to an early lead with Puterbaugh in tow and Bloom running 3rd. Billy got by Kent around lap 10 and that was it. Kent ran a strong 2nd Shuman started 9th and was on the move getting by Bloom with about 3 to go. All in all a good show...a lot of cars got tore up...and there was excitement in the pits as walls stated. Few other things one good one bad....BAD...the TOW TRUCKS are not so good....when they hook up to a sprint car on the cage it will not lift it completely off the ground...dragging it back to the pits with more parts being broken. GOOD....looks like DA has invested in some equipment....saw some new stuff on the track this week...new tractor.etc.... so that is good...now just get 1 good tow truck.....

to answer your question spridge....Bloom did a real nice job with Heavy D on the wrenches....Strong 2nd place run in his heat....top 4 in the A.... kept his nose clean and drove smart all night.....Dont remember seeing one mistake from him....

He also told me there was a ton of bent pieces in the pits and no crowd.Sounds like the same ole same ole to me.He did say that Bob Franklin was extremely nice and understanding but we all know Bobs hands are tied..To bad..

No there was no sprint cars loading up. The track was NOT the worst, they actually went out and did some work between races to make it ok. The sprint cars tore up were mostly due to drivers hitting drivers not the track.

In the sprint car b main and main event, There were plenty of cars that had damage from the track. If you didnt notice there was lips from turn 1 to turn 2 that acted as steps. I saw cars with headers bent up, nerf bars bent, and panels bent. It was ROUGH. It might not have been the worst but it was bad.

I think I did notice since we won the feature and have been there every race this year. I am so tired of people getting on here and complaining about LPS if you don't like it stay home,or go somewhere else. There was a time in May I told Billy if they didn't do something with the track we were not going back, but since then they have at least been making an effort. Is the track great no but it is raceable and I have been to worse, but there are no perfect dirt tracks.

I was asking a question...And yes 4 mods loaded I know them personally...you guys that run there good for you...I don't care where you run or for what reason...don't take it so personnal...My brother is thinking about going there next weekend and I have advised him against it but if he goes I'll probably go to help pick up the pieces..What can I say he's my brother..but there is no need to take the bad press to heart...

PS... How was the crowd???

I don't like to sound bitter but people on this message board have made it seem like anyone who runs LPS is a second class team. We run at GAS CITY on Fridays and LPS SAt. we work as hard as anyone out there with a lot less money than many and I get a little defensive. I assume Chris Gurley is your brother we are good freinds with him and usually park next to each other at Gas City I will talk to him Friday about LPS. To answer your question the crowds stink to many bad wraps about the track and facility and yes both could use some work but it is what it is.

Re: Lps

who were the 4 mods? we know who 2 were, crowd was fairly decent, and the lips around 1and 2 is called a cushion seems to me nobody knows what that is anymore, they just call it a rough track, the only thing wrong at lps now that was not with other promotors is this internet crap.same old track, i remember when hopton had it you had to walk through standing water from bathrooms to get to backstrech bleachers, and i have videos from 80's 90's track was not smooth then either,so as grumpy racer said race or stay home. jmo congrats billy, and team

Re: Lps

Yes I will be staying home or going elsewhere.I was not upset about the track as much as I was about them bringing out the tractor between every race and even stopping one race to work on it when it wasn't really as bad as i have seen it.They made it a much longer night than they needed to.

Wallsracing 6/28/09 9:11 PM

from the front page of website they tore up some chit

Re: Lps

I ran there every sat night in mid eighties and it was pretty ruff. We have ran there a little and everyone was nice to us and track was choppy with a couple of holes but it was same for everybody. Most all the tracks are old and flat wore out but if someone is winning on them then the rest of us should't complain to much.

Here is the perfect example. People complain if they don't work the track, then they complain when they do.

I too raced on the Hopton track and it was also very rough at times.

How about throwing out some mod drivers names that loaded up, according to the results everyone that ran a heat race ran the feature, we all know John doesn't like the place and likes to start crap on here about it.

Re: Lps

You dont go to putnumville to run on a smooth, slick, dusty, one lane conga line around the tires, there is plenty of places like that around here. You go there knowing not to forget your spurs and elbow pads...

agar 6/29/09 6:24 AM

Re: Lps

I see Chase Stockon was there he must not be running the MSCS anymore ????

zeroracer 6/29/09 6:40 AM

Re: Lps

I have ran sprints and stock cars both, a place thats elbows up chop for a sprint car that you think ahh thats a little rough not to bad, is a freaking nightmare in a modified, you bent and break all kinds of stuff because the car is twice as heavy with twice the moving pieces.

John can speak for himself and most of you that run there wouldn't go anywhere else(on a saturday night) anyway. I will ask the drivers that told me they loaded up and if I can post their name. I would love to have a track that was as close to me as P'ville is that actually gave even a little concern about the race track.I applaud the 10H for openning up and I also applaud the othere cars that loaded up and for doing what they believe in while most just ***** under their breath and never speak out. I wish they would get it together at P'ville it's close and has a ton of history and deserves better. So you dont need to speak for me I'll do it myself. Oh,NO ONE that races there or anywhere else is a second class citizen that was never said by me nor will it ever be said. We all have choices and everyone will do what they think is right for them but dont get bent outta shape when someone doesn't agree with you or ask's the no spin questions. You guys need to calm down before you give yourselves a stroke. It's just racing boys you would think someone was talking smack about your wife.:15:

Re: Lps

I guess I may be showing my age, but I remember when Farrar ran the place.

Some of you newbies might find this hard to believe, but in their reign, the track was always in great shape. The rest rooms were clean and the the grounds were well maintained. The show was ran at a quick pace and the drivers and the fans were treated with respect.

Granted Hopton was a step down, DA fell off the cliff.

For most of us, LPS is close to home, its an oval and its made of dirt, getty up!!!!:31:
