Who's going where Saturday?

With 7 different tracks offering sprint car racing Saturday night who is going where?

1)Eldora has the second leg of the 27th annual Ohio sprint week with the All Stars.

2)Kalamazoo is hosting the USAC sprint cars.

3)Anderson has the HOSS series scheduled.

4)Paragon will be staging the finale of the KISS series.

5)Lawrenceburg, Lincoln Park and Vermilion County have regular shows scheduled.

I am going to Paragon with my father. The Paragon KISS event is my favorite during the summer season. What a great relaxing night of racing. No hassles with coolers and excellent seating with plenty of room. Paragon Speedway knows how to treat their fans! Thank you, Keith Ford for providing a night of sprint car racing the way it should be. I can not wait for this Saturday nights race. Scott A. Solem

Re: Who's going where Saturday?

KISS @ Paragon is one race that I look forward to every year and never miss. Although the current program there isn't my cup of tea per se, it's crucial in the overall scheme of things, as far as the state of the sport, here in Indiana is concerned. So many of today's great drivers cut their teeth and logged in laps at this track. And the place means a lot to me, as I was lucky enough to cut my teeth (literally as a baby and as a race fan) watching all time greats, racing in epic races there. And this year will have special meaning for me, as it will be the first Paragon race that I see after the passing of Chuck Amati, who was so great there.

Still trying to decide. I always enjoy the KISS race at Paragon, but enjoy tracks I have never been to, so Kalamazoo is still in the running. Friday will be the doubler at Gas City, and Sunday at Kokomo.

Anderson, have never watched the wing sprints there plus the UMRA puts on a good show there AND they have some type of figure 8 thing going on so should be a fun night, lets hope mother nature plays nice!

Gee, doesn't anybody want to go to Greenville-Pickens with me??? Flat half-mile asphalt with 16-18 Late Models (including 3 or 4 that 'start and park' after all, it is NASCAR sanctioned), 6 or 7 Sportsman, and about 30 others which they divide into FOUR features believe it or not!:14: On second thought, I think I'll stay home.

If my money was right and I still wasn't trying to pass this damn kidney stone, it would be Kalamazoo for sure. So my answer is I'm staying home. My traveling thousands of miles a year to see races are over.:7::13:

Gregg; Hope you get to feeling better soon. If you ever hit the powerball, I know you'll be coming down here to check out all things NASCAR.:3:

Paragon for me. I had to miss last year for a wedding and the KISS race was rained out in 2007. It is the only trip I make to Paragon each year and it is usually a pretty good race. My wife is coming with me and we will stop for a meal at the Hilltop in Spencer.

I've actually travelled South for racing on several occasions, but it was for IndyCar and USAC. Lanier Raceway and Dixie Speedway in Georgia for USAC, and Charlotte and Atlanta for IndyCar.

Hey PJ, you know me all too well on that Nascar thing. But I was actually a pretty big fan back in the late 80's and early 90's. I just lost interest. I haven't seen a Nascar race in person since 2001.

Thanks for the good wishes on that stone. It hurt so bad this morning, my wife almost had to take me to the crash house. I think the pain started when I was thinking about Nascar.:3:

Lanier used to be my usual Saturday destination up until about 10-12 years ago. I've heard they're really struggling with poor attendence and car counts. Too bad, because as you know it's a real nice facility. Back when it was dirt, they usually averaged about 150 cars each week. The coldest I've ever been at a race track was at an Allstars show at Dixie one November. I think there were about 100 people in the stands, all frozen in place, that night.

Dude you know how to live. Family style dining and a Spencer steak. Oh my god I think I drooled on my keyboard.

I will be at Paragon with Hunter.

PJ, I was working in SC this spring and made 2 attempts at Greenville-Pickens just to satisfy my racing habit. The first time it was a rain out and the 2nd was the allstar weekend at charlotte, so no racing at GP. Hauled butt home in time for the hoosier hundred and the little 500! Awesome racing.
