Re: New nationwide team
I picked from the choices given between Dave and Tracy. If he wants to buy several cars, then JJ, BC, HS, the list could go on and on.

Re: New nationwide team
I can't believe that I'm replying to a thread started by Superduke, but here goes...
If I were doing a Nationwide Series team, I would have Bryan Clauson at the top. You can't overlook Yeley, who has had success and would do well, for sure. I would think that would be a top notch duo on the circuit. Also, if I were to pick between Tracy Hines and Dave Darland (as Duke mentioned), I'd have to go with Hines. I really like Darland, but Hines has Nationwide and Camping World Truck experience. Plus, he had some VERY good runs with a team that was going downhill. He would do some very good things in good equipment. |

I thought Fred Zirzow operated the IOW Fantasy League ? :2:

Dave Darling... that's Pa Darlings boy from Andy Griffith. I thin he plays fiddle. I heard Brads Gold Club is looking to sponsor if your interested.

Re: New nationwide team
I can't think of anyone more deserving than Dave Darland. A true professional racer.

Shawn , I feel the same , but ... here goes ... On a serious note - Duke mentioned "testing at 2 tracks - Kentucky and Richmond". Those tracks host Nationwide events and therefore are ineligible for testing. The testing ban applies to all 4 of NASCAR's top series at any and all tracks that host those events. Duke will have to go to a non-NASCAR track to test his new Fords. And , I hope you got a great deal on those Fords as all of the current Nationwide Series cars currently in use are obsolete in 2010. Series Director Joe Balash says that he is still on schedule to roll out the new Nationwide car next year but admits that there was some earlier hesitation because of the economic downturn and some lost sponsorship dollars that many teams have realized. While Joe was unwilling to quote a dollar amount , he did admit that the changeover costs to teams would be "substantial". The top teams are currently spending upwards of $10 Million to fully fund the 35 race schedule. :17: |
Re: New nationwide team
The Dukester says he has 6 Fords. I didn't realize they sold 6 Torino's. Maybe he has a fleet of Edsel's.:16:5:

Re: New nationwide team
Brad Kuhn would be a good fit he stands on the gas and is easy on equiptment. Brad has been to mike losiers school in Fl. He has tested for other teams and has always been fast, just not enough money to secure the ride. Brad is consistent and can give a lot of feed back to the team on set ups. Lets see midget racer, from Indiana, Purdue Grad, and came up from Quarter Midgets. Sounds like some others who have made it

Re: New nationwide team
Fools! All of you........... Cole Whitt! Hands down the best young talent to come our way since Tony "TUBBY" Stewart. That kid can do it all. Build, Fabricate, Maintain(people forget how important that one is) Set-up and Drive the whhels off of anything. The feedback he gives when he gets out of the racecar is incredible. Great kid, great family and he's going to succeed. I can't wait for his commercial: "Welocome to My world, the World of Red Bull".

Re: New nationwide team
For this particular team, I think Walter Mitty would be the best choice.:17:
