If N.Vernon would rain out
If N.Vernon would rain out what track would you suggest going to, Macon for POWERi or Jacksonville for IL Sprintweek?
Thanks, Jeff |
Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
Jacksonville hands down macon is a cesspole in more ways than one.

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
Jeff, I would go to Macon if I were you. It's a really neat joint....and the racing is great there. I hope you guys are having fun....wish I was there this week, but I'm limited on my vacation this year. Sucks not being there with my Dad.

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
I'd go with Sprint Week if it was me. Not picking one track over another.....

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
Either one is fine,Jeff. Just depends on how far you want to drive, and if you want to see midgets or non wing sprintcars.

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
Is that a track that calls early, or are they liable to try to get it in? The weather map doesn't look all that bad.

Would you describe a cesspool??? I have raced at both recently this year and can tell you that macon provides better and closer racing, and has better facilities than Jacksonville. Plus track prep? Macon is far ahead of J-Ville in that department. Food is better too. :6:

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
I drove to Edenburgh this morning about (30 min north of north Vernon) and the fields have alot of water in them..I just checked the weather and they said scattered showers,hi winds and hail this afternoon!! I just hope they cancel early if it is to wet there tonight!

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
If it gets rained out where would it be posted? I can't find a web site for NV. Thanks.

Jeff, Macon is one of my favorite tracks, but nascar night will scare me off. It has been a while since I have been to Jacksonville. I liked it too, and it seems like their staff really tries.

Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
Jeff, don't be afraid to take Chris Nunn up on his Brownstown offer with the Late Model's. We went out to Brownstown for the Lucas Oil "Ice Breaker 50" and it was one of the best races I've ever seen. Plus your pretty close to Bloomington for tomorrow night. I'm pretty sure thats where NY John (Sasquatch), Dale, Brenda, Cliff, Freddy and Steve will go.
I was only at Macon once and the track was in bad shape, But I'd go back there in a heartbeat. Cool little joint. |

Just got an email from USAC, N. Vernon Rained out:7:, rescheduled for Aug. 14th. See below
" Rain and wet grounds have forced postponement of tonight’s USAC Mopar National Midget and Midwest Ford Focus Midget “doubleheader” at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Ind. The program has been rescheduled for Friday night, August 14. Heavy overnight rains totaling nearly four inches in southern Indiana have left the facility un-raceable, with three feet of water in the infield and extremely saturated parking and pit areas. “We obviously are disappointed that weather has intervened,” said USAC Competition Director Jason McCord. “We are, however, pleased that we have been able to reschedule for August 14, the night before the “Joe James/Pat O’Connor Classic” Sprint car race at Salem (Ind.) Speedway. This will give the race fans a signature weekend of USAC racing.” “Indiana Midget Week,” which opened last night at Gas City I-69 Speedway, continues Friday at Bloomington Speedway and Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway and will conclude with the crowing of the 2009 champion Sunday night at Kokomo Speedway." |
Re: If N.Vernon would rain out
I really wanted to support Illinois Sprint Week and said I would have went to every one of them, had they not scheduled it the same week as Indiana Midget Week. Looks like I'm Jacksonville bound.
