Shelbyville

When you enter Shelbyville fairgrounds, stay straight with the grandstands on your left and go to the back straightaway to enter the pit area. You will enter about midway to the quarter-mile track, and pit on the left side of the gate down toward turn 2.

The right side of that gate is a reserved pit area for a tractor pull. Please do NOT park on that side. Shelbyville was very clear about this.

Thanks,

It would be great to have drivers from umra that are not running this weekend run Shelbyville... I know personally some that are not running pavement and there is nothing better than a race within 30 minutes from home!!!!! This is a great event with no advantages and a very supportive community to TQ's. PLEASE prepared the track for hot laps this week!!!!!!!!!!!! Support TQ's

Charlie, I'll be coming up 9, from Seymour, I know that 44 is torn up at the Vine St to fairgrounds route, can I get there from here? And I don't know where WalWart is, I don't look for them, if I need something, I'll do without before going there! Thanks! Bob

Hey Jim!
This is the first I heard about this. Perhaps Donald Davidson could shed some light on the subject. :30:
Should I know this cat named Rusti?

Just keep going north on 9, around the circle, turn right onto Pennsylvania st. At the end (T), turn left (north) onto Vine. Vine becomes Morris ave. When you get to Fair ave., turn right onto it. At the T, turn right. You are there.

Or, you can follow 44 east untill you are about a block from I 74 and turn left at the last light. (by Wally-world) Go past Wal-mart across the new pink bridge. At the T, turn left (west) onto Rushville Rd. Follow it a short way and turn left (south) onto Frank st. to the fairgrounds.

Nothing to it! Hey, if I can find it, so can you. :8:

See ya there,

Charlie,
Rusti's just a little redheaded feline that adopted me a few years ago. She walks across my keyboard from time to time.
Looks like a petite female Garfield.

Has ANYTHING been done to the fence there? Last time the UMRA was there all that seperated the pits from the track was a chainlink fence. Twice cars went thru it, once hurting people and the other was pure luck no one was hurt when Jason Goff went thru it, only the fact he went thru at the point where there was port a pots (which he hit and destroyed) kept anyone from being hurt, 20 feet either way and he was into people. The UMRA decided to not go back due to the unsafe conditions. Unless that deal has been greatly changed then I can't see how it's now safe to race there.

Alot of changes have happened there. Highway barriers now line the outside of the track, much the same as Madison, are among the most noticeable. The track prep is being handled by Shelbyville, NOT the same person that didn't water Greensburg on Saturday. :6:

See you there?

This will be the first time back in a TQ since 2003 I believe.

Looking forward to running the 55 again. I owe Larry and Dale for a race I threw away a few years back.

Also going to be bringing Elijah (sneaky snake) to his very first race. :6:

FYI; 4 those of u crossing 44 from Franklin 2 Shelbyville it is also closed.. but when u get 2 Shelbyville u may want to take Mechanic St. or Washington St. cause Pennsylvania st. is very narrow & may be hard 2 get trailers through... Good Luck All & LETS GO RACING..

Yeah, Nature is a mother...:15:

You have to admit, Gary Lee did a wonderful job with everything he did! I have new memories that will last a lifetime and pictures that will last even longer. Talking to Wilber Shaw Jr. and Donald Davidson was something I never thought would happen in my life. Very nice people to say the least.

Seeing the Maserati on display in Shelbyville, well, that was just over the top! A big THANK YOU to IMS for use of the Maserati, the transportation of it and the police security. (that don't know me yet)

Gary, if you read this, my hat is off to you! Thank you again for everything. You Sir, are top of the line! :9:
