As most of you have been told shortbus (aka my dad) will be having a major surgeory today at 1pm i will try to keep you guys updated as ill be going up there around noon...thanks for the prayers

Thanks Lloyd. I just finished checking my e-mails and was thinking of Bill. We send a lot of jokes and racing info back and forth and it just hasn't been the same recently without hearing from him like we used to.

We will be thinking of Bill and hope everything works out for him.

Thanks for keeping us updated, Lloyd. It definitely won't quite seem the same, going to the races and not seeing the Shortbus there. Especially at THAT, Bloomington and Haubstadt. I know that he has set a goal for his return to the track and I pray that everything goes well and he has the strength to achieve that. I have no doubt that he will.

Bill is a tough old racer. With that going for him plus the thoughts and prayers of everyone here and elsewhere, I'd bet the ranch that SHORTBUS will be back in the stands before ISW. Thanks for updates Lloyd.

Lloyd, the Mrs & I have been praying for Bill and all of you since we were first informed of his situation.I along with others will be waiting for updates on the "SHORTBUS".

The Gilbert family is keeping all of the Walls family in our thoughts and prayers.

as of 545 shortbus is still in surgeory...he was typical sb before he went in..he said he was going to that tommorrow...i told him we would see about it..he is gonna be in hospital 5 to 7 days...will post again...asap

shortbus is out of surgeroy now in recovery everything went well took a little longer than expected..because of his size and also the chemo and radiation shrunk and did not spread no blood transfusion needed

Lloyd,

Tell the nurses to put a guard on him tomorrow afternoon. That'll keep him from trying to make a break for it a couple of hours before hot laps. If I see a wheelchair weaving through traffic on US-41, I'll know he gave them the slip.

Lloyd, you know there isn't much I could say that hasn't already been said, but I assure you that Bill and the Walls family will be in the prayers by Kim and me. Thank you for the updates and especially for the good news in your later posts.

oh yeah before i left i asked him if he wanted visitors and he said yes he doesnt mind..i know alot of his freinds will be intown for the hulman classic ...please feel free to pay him a visit ...union hospital is about 3 to 4 miles north of the track on us hwy 41...turn right onto 8th ave go 3 blocks cannot miss.......he should be in room 1023 ..unless they change it...or just ask what room bill walls is in....thanks for the support .......Lloyd

Id run blocker for the wheelchair. My only question is how we get him up the the grandstand?

Well someone is going to need to be at the BARE minimum sending him updates..bare minimum!!

Going to try and swing in to see him, I will be leaving late from Evansville to go...see everyone there and great news to hear that Bill is ok

just came from the hospital shortbus is really doing good awake and alert but has some moderate pain but hes got a morphine pump so hes in good shape..lol......mom was giving him is so called hospital bath.......will post later

Thanks, Lloyd. Do they allow him to have a radio up there? I think this is being broadcast in 1130am and 1300am.

they had shortbus up walking 3 times on thurs...thought he may try to escape and come to the race but he didnt...he said the hardest part about the surgeroy now is getting up and down from the bed..he does have his breathing tube out now.i asked him who was gonna win the race before i left there and he said hmmmmm honest to god truth he said......ILL TAKE LEVI:20:: i havent told him who won yet my sister was supposed to take him a am/fm radio to listen but she didnt and i didnt know until after the heats were over i know some of you guys went up to pay him a visit...i wanna thank all of you who did:6:
