You could have thrown a blanket over Fass, Levi and Windom the last five laps. Heck of a race to the finish. Track superb. Tom

Re: Haubstadt Updates
Great night at Tri-State, exciting finish with Levi and Windom. Hard crash by BC, Bland had a pretty tough spill also. Even the tin tops put on a good show

Re: Haubstadt Updates
So your not suppose to drift up on the straightaways? According to farriswheel, the red 15 "nearly" took out cars, but didn't. And from what I remember, It was coming to get the green when he got into Hunter and everybody got stacked up.

Well at least you said you don't know anything so I didn't have to. Did he get into anybody on the straightaways? From what I recall he didn't. These cars don't have mirrors, and slidejobs are part of racing and there has to be some give and take.

Re: Haubstadt Updates
WAY TO GO LEVI
BC TOOK A RIDE BUT was all smiles in the pits his knees were pretty banged up |
Re: Haubstadt Updates
I am on my way home, I am sending these from Vincennes. If you missed this show, the last 5 laps were some of the best racing I have seen in a long time. Jones, Faas , and Windom raced their a$$e$ off. BC took a wild one, I missed Blands , but from what was left it was rough. I am putting two shots here. Levi, and one of BC. More later, I'm going home.

Re: Haubstadt Updates
That was a great race for the lead. Once again another perfect racing surface put on by the Tri-State gang. The Hunter deal was unfortunate but the fact is the top lane basically stopped and Kyle Wissmiller had nowhere to go. Kyle's driving style is not even close to dirty so I don't know what you are talking about. If slide jobs are dirty than there are 36 other drivers that are guilty of it.

Re: Haubstadt Updates
First off, thanks to Trent Hetser for getting me some lineup info, after the drivers meeting. It made doing updates a hell of a lot easier. And John for putting the info up on the board.
The track was great (as usual) and so was the race. Especially the last four laps. With two to go, you really had no idea who was going to win. Faas, Levi and Windom all had a shot. For a lot of the race Levi and Windom just went at it tooth and nail. IMO, it was the best battle of the night. And BC was flying. If he hadn't lost his battle with the cushion, maybe nobody would have had anything for him. I'm thankful that Nic Faas made it out East to race, this year. This early in the season, he's already hit pay dirt once and has been right in the thick of things several other times, with a chance to win. And he, Levi, Windom, BC and Fitzpatrick waged quite a war tonight, all racing each other cleanly. Great night at the races. Especially when you consider these guys had over four inches of rain in the last day, to overcome. Jerry |
Re: Haubstadt Updates
Hunter got a flat RR tire on the drop of the green and they didn't wait or give him time to change it.

thanks for the great pics

Re: Haubstadt Updates
WOW!!! In my guesstimate, no less than 5 lead changes by the top 3 cars in the last 3 laps!!!!!!!
Absolutely amazing....................Tri-State outdoes itself again............. Congrats to Walker and Levi... |

I agree that having a problem on an initial start is a bad deal. Great race but the fans would have gotten a bit more entertainment value for their dollar had Hunter been allowed to continue especially from the tail. The rules clearly state though that if a car leaves the track or has a flat other than the LF they are done. Sam's new SCORA series has the same bad rule so he probably came up with the rule initially and the new MSCS never changed it. Fans should petition to MSCS that in the event of a flat tire on an initial start only, the racer should have the chance to change it and start on the tail. Maybe Jason can let us know if this is a possiblity...

Re: Haubstadt Updates
jw why he was not allowed to change his tire?? i thought in the past they had a time limit to change.. last night was a great race.. congrats to levi!! glad to see BC and Bland were alright after they both took a wild ride..

Myself I couldn't beleive that they packed down a PERFECT cushion between every heat race and to top it off went out and worked what cushion that was left down in intermission, so when it came time to race they didn't want to wait on any of the cars that were involved on that 1st lap incident because of "time"??? I also couldn't believe the anouncer kept "bragging" about "2 mega flips" like that was the most exciting thing about sprint cars.??? The last 3 laps between Levi, Faas and Windom was totally Awesome!!! :8: Hated to see BC go out like he did, he definetly had em covered. Then he was down in the pits signing autographs after it was over, limping around (because he was in so much pain) shows this guys a real winner. I was very impressed with BC! |

yep he did get in to hunter and that start was **** and should of been restarted from what i seen hunter never had a chance to even take off the 15 took off way before the leaders even took off i understand trying to get a jump on the next guy but dont drive over the top of them that is dirty driving theres no question about that |

Secondly if they would not have stayed on top of that race track it would have had a 3' ledge - not a cushion - and more cars could have possibly been torn up let alone drivers taking a chance on being injured. As stated before it sure would be nice for you to either promote your own speedway and/or series so rookies like the Helfrich family and their employees could learn a thing or two. |
