Re: Mario Marietta Wins at The Speedrome
Congratulations , Mario in a great win with the return of Midget Racing to the Speedrome !
It is not unusual to see someone lead flag-to-flag on pavement , regional or national included. Mario brought his A-Game in a display of both preparation and driving talent to prove , once again , why he is one of the best on pavement. A deserved win , for sure ! My congratulations also to those finishing 4th , 5th and 6th - Jim Anderson :24: Brian Olson :23: Joe Liguori :22: Great Job , guys !! :31: |

Re: Mario Marietta Wins at The Speedrome
I thought it was a heck of a show. I really thought Kyle was going to get second. No body had anything for Mario! So you can't just go off that mario led all 50 laps on judging the race! IT was a goody

The question Tony asked was, "how many passes for the lead were there at Anderson last night?" The answer is one. After East passed Santos he was the leader throughout the rest of the race. He passed a lot of other cars, however that was putting them a lap or more down. |
Re: Mario Marietta Wins at The Speedrome
John,
Based on your logic, then how many cars did Mario pass? My only regret is not being there. But, I did see a great late model and modified race in Independence, Iowa, Saturday. Oops. Did I say great late model and modified racing? Yes I did. They know how to do it out here. In fact, I'd like to see the top modified guys out here against many of the sprint drivers in Indiana. It'd be a heck of a race. BTW, this would be a great midget or sprint track. Visited Hawkeye Downs Friday night. No sprints on the sked this year, but they'd lease the place to rhe right suitor. They feel sprints have too big of a price tag to make money with the show. Jim Morrison |

Re: Mario Marietta Wins at The Speedrome
Kuhn Fan,
I missed the race at Anderson...I think it is a legit question on how many passes for the lead there were. No bashing at all in my question. I have been going to the Little 500 since 1977...and am a BIG Jeff Bloom fan...who will be racing at the Speedrome July 19 and August 30 with HOSS. CARRYTHELEFTFRONT.. If I am not at a race..I really do not question how entertaining the races were. I salute all the effort ANY race team invests in this sport...I do not like to see any event ripped on the internet by someone who didn't bother to see what actually happened. I do think that questions are fair. That being said...Lets do what we can to promote open wheel racing..there are so many other types of entertainment...we need to be on the same page. I vow to keep it positive..Just don't question our racers WHO DARE TO ENTER THE ARENA. Mario did a great job staying out fron of Billy Wease...who had a VW powered car! Kyle Hamilton has shown GREAT talent. I encourage everyone to go to Anderson this FRIDAY. Don Kenyon entered our races and had Hoosier tires there. Lets get out and see the USAC Regional Series.
