Brett Burdette updates.......
 

We just came from the hospital and per Joe Burdette, Brett Burdette was in a first lap wreck in the 25 lap feature Saturday night a Lawrenceburg Speedway. Brett got out of his car under his own power and went into the ambulance at the track, and then transported to Dearborn County Hospital for treatment. At Dearborn County he had a cat scan and it showed 2 fractured vertabrae and a crushed vertabrae.
He was then air transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for futher treatment at around 12:40am. Please send your thoughts and prayers out to Brett Burdette and Family.

On behalf of Brett's family, we want to say thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Brett is resting comfortably at Methodist and we are just waiting to see what steps will be taken next. Surgery or no surgery? No confirmation as of yet. He is being well taken care of. We would also like to thank everyone that stopped by Dearborn County Hospitial last night. Your friendship and concern are very much appreciated. We will keep you posted.

Thanks for the update HarleyHoney. Tell Brett Mr TOM is thinking of him, and also of the family and crew. It's a tough time for all. You couldn't have a better group of doctors than those at Methodist. I'm sure they will give Brett the best possoble treatment there is available!! :6:

Yesterday afternoon the decision was made to fit Brett with a brace to try and avoid surgery. His parents are meeting with the Drs. this morning to decide if this course of action will help. If not, they will then do surgery. Will keep you posted as information is relayed. I would like to note that Brett is not allowed to have any visitors due to the possibility of "Swine Flu".
