Don't have lots of details, but have friends there....earlier heats, Sciscoe transfers to main, Gurley beats Holtsclaw in heat 4. 47 sprints, 2 Bmains -- first B -- Fitzpatrick, Puterbaugh and Kaplan all transfer. Second B running next.

Clauson transferred thru heat.

2nd B -- Urish, Wissmiller (track announcer only saying last name) and Maddox to feature. There are 5 classes of cars, so it may be awhile before sprint A.

A main ..... It is a straight up line up.
Gurley, Clauson, Memmer, Triplett and Anderson won heats. Hmeil just flipped.

Anybody that finds themself on a Saturday night, wondering which track you should go to that night, I would suggest you give this track a try. We've been over there twice and have left both nights glad we chose this place. Nice looking, sprawling facility, a track staff that seems like they all enjoy being there, a large group of race savvy fans and a pretty racy surface. Especially when you consider that it's a new team working together, that are just going to get better and better. And a note to a certain postal employee that frequents this board: If there's a better track cheeseburger anywhere, I'd like to see it.

It was great watching one of my favorite drivers take home the trophy tonight and kick the trend of bad luck he's had. But, had the race went another lap or two, he might have not. The big cat was definitely on the prowl and definitely added some drama at the end. And to Jon's credit, he might have been close enough at the end to have thrown one of those big sweeping sliders that you see often in this day and age, but he didn't. Regardless, once he finally got around AJ, and set sail towards BC, it looked like Jon has gotten his mojo back. Great show and, again, out of there at a decent hour.

Jerry

I had Clauson, Stanbrough, AJ, Memmer, Holtzclaw, Siscoe. Gurley and Shuman were battling for 5th & 6th but both spun in turn 4 coming for the checker. I didnt see what happened. Way to go BC!:6:

Man it was nice to go to a new racetrack tonight I really enjoyed it. Even though we drove two hours and went past putnamville on the way, I'd definitely go back. The joint is fast, even when it's slick they haul it in hard and put on a good show. Hot laps were real cool to see non wing cars never lift. Show was ran as fast and clean as possible can't wait to go back. I feel for chris and the truckers guys it wasn't necessary for them to go home with another one junked I just don't understand it.

Gotta agree with Jerry's comments. My first time at VCS, but I'll be back. I like the pay as you drive in deal and the general attitude around the place. Plenty of parking. Car count was of course enhanced by the rain outs and it was a great field. We were in the pits and it looked like there were a couple of hundred cars (all classes) or more there. Really impressed with the way they ran the show with minimum down time. If I have any criticism at all, it would be on the lighting. Either it's my old worn out eyes, or it's dark out there. 53 looked the best I've seen it this year. Clauson drove a great race and had to. A slight bobble or a late caution could have cost him the win. :6: Expecting to make more trips to VCS!!!!

Be happy with what you got. The person updating the thread is also the track announcer so he kind of had a job to do rather than update you on a race you could go to

I had all intentions of doing some updates, but it got pretty fast paced trying to keep the show moving as fast as possible to get the fans home at a decent hour.....

Thank you to all who were in attendance last night, both in the pit area and in the stands......The racers put on one whale of a show and the crowd was hyped up as usual......Every week I wonder how things can get any better and each week I am surprised......I hope everyone had a good time......

i'll tell you what that place is just like all previous post about it they started hot laps around 6:15 or so and ran straight through without any down time something always happening on the track plenty of equipment and personnel to run the place i think they all did a pretty good job and everybody seems to work as a team.....:8::8::8: Mike Jr

I'm very thankful for the updates we got. Great job! Thank you for taking the time to inform those of us who couldn't make it. I certainly know I will make the drive from Springfield in the future. With the quick way they obviously run off the show, I can drive over and back and be home in good time. Thanks again.

This was my second trip to VCS. I went to the MSCS race a couple of years ago. Sam and I really enjoyed our trip to VCS last night. He has been talking about it all day.

It really is a fan & kid friendly facility. I like how Roger Hughes gets everyone invloved before things get started.

They moved through the program without any interuptions.

We will definetly be back this year.

Job well done to the drivers and VCS!

Good to chat with you Dan. I have one tired bodyguard. That one hour difference in time is hard on little guys. He was talking about the racing on the way home and only slept about an hour. He then woke up this morning at 7:30 talking racing. He is already looking forward to Bloomington Friday and Haubstadt Saturday.
