Sorry fellows, but I will not be at I69 Dust City this weekwend. I am having new carpet installed and just can not get away.

Seriously, why would I want to go to I69 Dust City? I can understand track prep, but please get more than an obsolete International tractor that has not been made in 50 years. If you must do track prep because you can not get it right the first time, do it like Haubstadt. You know more than one tractor. Haubstadt does more in 10 minutes than Dust City does in an hour.

I69 Gas City used to have a great track, but over the last several years it has went into the toilet. Nobody in their right mind can disagree with this statement. Remember they were reconizese in the old Open Wheel Mag. as the best prepared dirt track.

Like I said, they get one more chance to get it right, come Midget Week. If they screw that up I am done with them.
And I hate to give the Dust City apologist a flash, I am not the only person that feels this way.

See Ya All in June.

.

Okay I agree that the track wasn't good at all to begin the night, however it was one of the best turnarounds in one night that I can remember. Yes it did take quite awhile to re-work the track but IMO the time spent was worth how much better the racing was after that. So as long as the track is better after the re-work who cares how long it takes.

everyone always wants tacky tacky tacky. When it's really tacky it just turns into a one lane follow the leader track. They might look cool going really fast but not much action. It has to halfway dry out some to have good two groove side by side racing.

Re: Gas City Friday

Reading Don’s post over time, I have concluded that this is his check list:

Dirt tracks that you never have to touch all night. A track should always be prepared and never touched after the first wheel touches the track.

Shows should start at 6 and be finished by 7:30. No reason to mess around. If quals, heats, and mains could be combined into cars being on the track one time, that would be best.

A track should never charge more for concessions than what it costs to break even. There should be no profit made by concession sales. If there is any type of overcharge, then boycott them.

Other than that, everything is run pretty well. Sorry, but that is just how it comes across.
