Re: Bloomington

I went and the racing was a little slow as many had the first night out jitters. Chase Briscoe looked great in his heat finished 2nd. Looked a little slow in the feature and then got upside down because he had no place to go, it was a soft roll. Bobby East (driving a red 5, no sponsors on the car) looked great in heat 5 which he won, but then got stuck early in the feature behind 2 cars, finally got around both was running 6th and then pulled off. Brady Short started 10th and just had everyone covered running the high groove. Lots of attrition in all classes. Too many yellows all night. Still nice to see some sprint car racing. 4 sprint cars got upside down but nothing real hard.

Do Brady Short and Jeff Bland run for points at Bloomington? I would just think those two would have raced at Gas City with USAC. I'm not in the loop here so i'm just asking a question.

Re: Bloomington

Why do you think Short & Bland would want to run with USAC? Bloomington has a great track, great format (program), great bunch of guys to race with, 10 minutes from their houses, and they (Bloomington) race every Friday night. What more do you need?

I respect these guys who run the regular shows every week and have a good time. :applaud:

Re: Bloomington

Great night of racing a Bloomington speedway. Mike Miles did a great job of preparing the track. The feature had a top and a bottom. That is all the fans and racers can ask for. I was impressed with alot of drivers last night. Brady Short was awsome fast and congats to him and the crew on the win. I thought Todd Kimmell drove a great heat and feature. Bobby East was bad fast in his heat. Shelby Miles was impressive for his first night in a sprint car. Nick Bilbee drove a great B main. The only downer was multiple cautions for over driving and lack of patience. Danny Holtslaw and Billy Puterbaugh had bad luck in their heats last night. Acease I do have to disagree that Chase was slow in the feature. On the first lap a car messed up in front of him and he fell back to 8th. But after that he was what I consider fast on the bottom. He passed Messeraul back and then him and short battled side by side for about 4 laps until they both caught the car that was holding Chase and East up on the bottom. Chase was passing for 6th when that car got into him and turned him over. It was a easy turnover and thankfully he was fine and the car suffered only minor damage. All in all a good night of racing.

I think you will see a lot more of this with the economy. Teams will elect to run local shows than to follow a series. It's great for the local fans and tracks and will make for some great racing this summer.

Re: Bloomington

OK Kevin my bad, I got caught up watching Bobby East, didn't expect him to be there. I guess I didn't realize Chase was being held up, thought Chase was holding up Bobby who I was expecting to move to the front. Tell Chase I,m sorry for the comment.

Excuse me Motormasher for asking a question. I said i was out of the loop for local Indiana racing since i'm from Wisconsin. I had no idea that Brady Short and Jeff Bland live 10 minutes from Bloomington.

Re: Bloomington

No problem at all. I am not upset. I knew you didn't mean anything by it. But I really thought he was going to go to the front after he got it lined out after his first lap goof up. Like I said in another post your analogy would have been correct tonight at Putnamville he was slow. He fought brake problems all night and just had a bad night.
