bobbyg45, Was he related to Danny Bowlen? I remember him as a very competitive sprint driver, from the 70's Paragon, Bloomington, etc. scene. RIP Steve, Jerry |

Re: ATTENTION!!!! Racing families & friends!!!
I've wondered whether this Steve Bowlen was Danny's brother myself.
Danny had a brother Steve who stooged for Danny when he drove other peoples cars and was the chief mechanic when Danny had his own operation. |
Re: ATTENTION!!!! Racing families & friends!!!
Danny's brother is named Mike.
Steve has a sister [Donna Reagan] and a brother[John] living and a brother deceased[Robert] |

Re: ATTENTION!!!! Racing families & friends!!!
If you read the obituary in the Bloomington paper it says his brother was John. Steve Bowlen was 59 years old. Yes he did drive a sprint car but not sure what number. This is all sad he was a good friend tous all. I don't know what number but he drove sprints from 79-81. You can go to luvracin.com under Paragon raceway in indiana and there is a pic etc of him under the street stocks #53.

Re: ATTENTION!!!! Racing families & friends!!!
I want to pay tribute to a man who was a good friend to many old and young. There is 1 little boy who will remember that he took the time to talk to him and this little boy had 1 of his first hero's.Winnie even bought him a ham and cheese sandwhich. This little boy is a grown man today.
Rest in peace Steve. For the rest of the family cry and laugh but remember the good times. We will miss seeing him around as he always had a smile. Sheetmetal man and his wife. |
