Re: This'll help her cred...
Maybe if IndyCar racing was less sterile it would be more exciting and dramatic. You know, like the time Foyt hit Johnny White on the helmeted head with a ball-pin hammer after a bumping incident at Terre Haute, or Bruce Walkup and some other guy exchanging fisticuffs at the Hulman Classic back in the '70s, or when the qualifying interviews used to be fun because the drivers were not trying to remember every sponsor on the side of the car.
BTW, I think they're enhanced -- either permanently or with add-ons. Padded bras are nothing new. Check out her photo on the SI calendar, or last year's issue. Jim Morrison |

This looks like a resume
Patrick won at Twin Ring Motegi in the Indy Japan 300 on April 20, 2008, becoming the first woman to win an IndyCar race,[1] joining the ranks of drag racer Shirley Muldowney, who won three NHRA Top Fuel Championships,[9] as a "first female" winner in the top tier of American motorsports. Patrick took the Indy Japan 300 after the race leaders were forced to pit for fuel in the final laps. She finished 5.8594 seconds ahead of the Brazilian pole-sitter Helio Castroneves on the 1.5-mile (2.4 km) Twin Ring Motegi oval. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danica_Patrick It could be worse, she could look like Duke. |

Patrick won at Twin Ring Motegi in the Indy Japan 300 on April 20, 2008, [QUOTE] That is the only important thing the rest was just political correct PR BS There are lots of drivers out there that have won one or more Indy Car races and struggle to get rides Buddy Rice has his face on the side of the Borg and a Rolex on his arm and he can not even get a ride that good |
Re: This'll help her cred...
Sean you forget that attracting and keeping sponsors is verrrrry important. On another note, will you be playing host in columus come April 4th?

On the Columbus note I am counting down the days....I wish it was another double show with the Sprints but I am not complaining and will take what we can get |
Re: This'll help her cred...
Talent and past success have nothing to do with it anymore.
How can a guy win The Little 500 eight times and never "go anywhere"? http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/marketability This post brought to you by cool, refreshing C***s Light. |
Re: This'll help her cred...
Z-man and SMB both posted while I was "composing" mine, in case anyone wonders why it seems out of place.

Re: This'll help her cred...
Prior to cable television, how many races were broadcast on national television? Indianapolis, the Hulman Classic and the USAC Champ Car race at Phoenix. Racing of any type was not on the national scene on a routine basis.
There have always been drivers of questionable talent in every form of racing, and very talented racers wondering why they were on the outside looking in. In fact, one of the biggest criticisms of CART by traditionalists was just that -- inexperienced guys getting a shot over others with traditional open wheel training. Again, that was really nothing new. Look back through the starting fields and Indianapolis and on almost any given year you will find someone whose credentials you would question. How about Salt Walther? Baconin Barzachini? Emory Collins was one of the most talented dirt racers in the Midwest. Never raced at Indy. Neither did Gus Schrader. Nor Bobby Kinser, As far as Danica, she's just capitalizing on her fame -- the same as Foyt, Andretti, Unser, Ted Horn and Wilbur Shaw. She just got her fame a different way. Jim Morrison |
