USAC Schedule conflict?
I know this was brought up in a previous post a while back but am not sure what came of it. On 7/31 I see both the midgets & Sprints scheduled to race. The midgets are at Belleville for the Nats & the sprints are at Iowa speedway. Anyone know what gives?

Re: USAC Schedule conflict?
The compulsion to keep dates separate from one another is a relatively recent one - If a sanctioning body has the chance to secure dates at two important tracks and had reasonable confidence that they could provide a quality field of cars for both events it seems logical to do so

Re: USAC Schedule conflict?
From information I received today, I believe everything will work out with the Belleville/Iowa conflict!
Also, I think the Midget Week TBA will be filled, but I don't see any viable options for the Pennsylvania date.... |
Re: USAC Schedule conflict?
i wish tri state would get the midget TBA date for midget week..

Re: USAC Schedule conflict?
Helfrich was upset with USAC after they decided not to schedule against the Firemen's Nationals at Angell Park. In doing so, that took away the sprint car race they had sanctioned at Haubstadt in 2006 on Saturday night before Du Quoin.
Obviously, he was at least partially over that when he scheduled the midgets there in 2007 and again in 2008, but when POWRi and USAC couldn't get along, he pulled the plug on both of them for that date. I'd heard from Jim Siner at the Chili Bowl that the possibility of a co-sanction at Haubstadt was there, but I still haven't seen anything yet... Aero - That TBA was directed solely at Lernerville. As you may have seen, the All-Stars got that date. Bad break. They're not going to stay in Central PA and run against Williams Grove, and they're not going to run in Lernerville's territory when they're trying to get back in there. It just didn't work out... |
