Wow, great videos, scary too. Hell, that last one where the car was engulfed in flames, yet cars were still flying through the turn, what a mess. Guess they didn't have raceceivers heh?

That last wreck was Langhorne in the early 50s, started when Wally Campbell had a problem coming out of turn 4. Others couldn't see that far ahead, being the the 'Horne was pretty much a circle.

Marv, weren't you there?:thumb

I used to get a kick out of telling street rod fans about the '32 & '34 Ford coupes we had cut up. Sometimes I'd show them a pic. Made them wanna cry. I was really mean when I was young. :-)

Neat video, but the cartoon music really did
not fit well with the garish accident scenes.

Just seeing that picture of The Famed 54 at Reading gets me a little misty-eyed, too. Isn't that picture about 1966, or so? Just a little before Bobby Gerhart started spanking `em in it?

Wow, those guys were crazy! It makes me proud to be racing with the "modern" version of those guys....and it raises up my level of respect for those pioneers up *that much* more

That photo is from 1962 (last year of flathead power at Reading) with driver, Calvin Calp.
