Unforunately Sandy, when I clicked on the link I got last year's sked.

The URL has 2008 listed in the address, on the schedule it says 2009 on the top of the page and the dates appear to be correct. http://twincitiesracing.net/2008/schedule.html if this doesn't work you may want to clear your browser history.

I find this funny.

Open practice on March 19th.

"She's loose coming out of 4 cause the track is all froze up. Can't get no forward bite on the snow."

Re: 2009 Twin Cities Sprint Races

Thanks guys.

Looks like UMRA dropped from five or six races there last year to just one in 2009 -- the only time TQs run there this year.

And, unfortunately, the $3,000-to-win date on April 4 is the same day USAC midgets run in Columbus, Ohio.

I, for one, am glad to see some Indiana tracks starting things a little earlier in the year. Gets that racing itch scratched sooner and, if they can do it in Pennsylvania....

Just out of curiosity, where will they get the sprint cars? Twin Cities wants to run them on six Saturday nights, but Lawrenceburg, Paragon, and Putnamville are already running them every Saturday night. What would make a guy who usually runs one of those tracks decide to go to N.Vernon for six nights? Especially when Lawrencebury is right down the road.

Most of these are when LBurg is holding non sprint shows. Lucas LMs. WOO LMS.

While I apreciate sprint shows on non local sprint nights. Id much rather see them work with LBURG and some other tracks to setup some higher paying weekends that don't involve a lot of travel. I like the track if it holds together. They worked very hard last year to put on some races when most other tracks couldn't.

It looks like the Burg is not running Sprints on any of the events scheduled at Twin Cities.

Definately disappointed that only 1 TQ race is scheduled there this year. Along with Lawrenceburg, Vernon is my favorite track to drive.

my question d.o. is where and how many sprints will danville get?

Re: 2009 Twin Cities Sprint Races

North Vernon is definitely my favorite track but I'll be the first to say that they need to make some major improvements before someone gets hurt. That thing they call a fence is mediocre at best (Anyone remember a certain USAC driver blasting through it in turn 1?). Also, the craters going into turns 1 and 3 need worked on and fixed. And not with concrete like we saw last summer.

That track has the potential to be the best sprintcar track in the state. I've told my wife repeatedly that if I ever win the lottery or fall into the money I will own that track one day and make it into the place it deserves to be!! :checkered:

I am in 100% agreement with you on that one Jake. TC has always been my favorite Indiana track for sprintcars. I've never seen a bad sprintcar race there, just some better than others.

As I added these dates to my racing calendar, Twin Cities is racing sprints on dates that the 'Burg is not racing or not racing sprints. So this may not be such a bad schedule.

Re: 2009 Twin Cities Sprint Races

Danville will have a nice crop of sprints. Brian Hodde is the flag man,
Sprints & Mods on Sat. Maybe TQ's 2 MSCS races, All Star Sprint series, UMP Summernationals, Illi Sprintweek and SCORA.

And a couple Racin-Fest ???? Maybe a wet T-Shirt Bonfire in Aug??

Re: 2009 Twin Cities Sprint Races

Jake, Chris's buddy bought that brand new Foxco car, that Scott Martin had bought, and only ran about 3 times. Chris has been helping him with it, and of course, driving occasionally. That was the buy of a lifetime, course none of us poor guys could even spell "cheap"! Anyway, that's what I know about it, don't think they have the budget for an all out assault, but that was a pretty nice piece of equipment, but Scott just didn't have time to grow it, and his business also, he was smart enough to know, he was going to make a lot more money in his business, and not so much racing. Still have to smile, when I think of it, when you passed you know who, at Columbus, in my car, going into turn 3, on the outside, scared him so bad, he spun out. Bob
